Just something to look into Jess, The actual science behind “calories in calories out” heads up, there isn’t any. As you already know our hormones react differently to the different foods we eat, (100 cals of meat and 100 cals of potatoes for example don’t have the same hormonal reaction) our bodies are smart and want to survive, and keep homeostasis, so reducing calories (although initially may give a little weight loss) actually makes your body react by lowering your metabolism to the amount you take in! makes total sense really, hence low calorie diets work for a while then stop working and then we get fed up eat more food and gain weight. ( good old yo yo dieting) I can’t remember which scientist gives the breakdown, may have been Dr Ben Bikman but it’s out there for you to explore. All the very best 👍

I’m 5 1/2 days in to getting back on keto. I had lost 55 lbs back in 2019-2020 and then ended up stress eating (the “C” entered the world) and gained it all back so I’m literally starting over 🤦🏻‍♀️. I looked back and it took me about 8-9 months to loose that weight…well if I start now I should be back in my skinny shorts by July if I get my act together now. I’m only 5 days in but I feel good and I feel in control which for me is important. Hopefully this mindset stays. Now I need to work on getting back to workouts which I used to love it was my passion. Right now I just feel depressed about where I let myself get back to that the workout part has been hard

yay!! you're back!! Love it. I was worried for a little bit, the carbs were taking control of you and now you are back in control of yourself. Keep going girl, you can do can achieve those goals. We just have to remember this is a life change, theres no "end". For me, carbs/sugar/processed food will never be a part of my life again, its so easy to see that stuff as poison now. I know you've said you don't want to feel restricted, that you'd prefer to say I'm choosing not to eat french fries today, but maybe next week will be okay, but when you finally realize those french fries are poison in your body, you'll be okay with permantley removing them. I'm rooting for you!!!

WHY DIDN’T I think of it that way??? What I’m doing now is for NEXT SUMMER! And you’re right, why wait till March to start. That just took a big ‘weight’ off so I don’t have to panic. I just have to keep going.

I think when you’re talking about benefits of protein, you’re actually talking about ketones. Ketones have those benefits, not necessarily protein. High protein might work for you and I think that’s great but higher fat works for me and many others. Not everyone “needs” to meet high levels of protein – sometimes, like with me, my glucose skyrockets when my protein macro is higher than the fat macro. Just something to be aware of. I wish you would share your glucose and ketone levels more, I think that’s more of an accurate real time tool than the scale.

Who we are is the accumulation of our habits – new habits mean a new you and that’s the fun part of life is to continue to grow, learn, and adapt. Time will continue to pass – we can’t stop it, so I like how you pointed out that summer is coming, whether it’s this or next summer . What we do within that time is up to us. I recently start running in the morning before taking my kid to school, before I would have told myself I could have never woken up early, but I’m doing it! Lots of great points!

I'm new to keto and watching what I eat in a day, your video is inspiring me to continue on with my own journey. Been yo yo dieting a lot and now that I am adding exercising to the journey I hope to change my attitude about weight goals. I don't mean to sound gross but if you bathroom regularly you could still lose a lot of weight. After I go bathroom, I go and exercising for about 15 min in the morning and 20 min at night.

I like that idea! Working on my summer body now!! I tend to hide underneath big sweaters, and layers in the winter-so it’s easy not to notice the layer of fat from eating comfort foods. So it’s gonna me making friends with my treadmill, and free weights. Also, gonna get some Instapot recipes going.♥️👍🏻 Annnd, of course, watching your progress, and hearing your thoughts as I go.

Looking good Jess. We had weather warning yesterday due to heavy rain. Blue skies today in UK as if it never happened. Following your exercise routine. It's great but mental showing up is hard. Thanks for your vids. Really help. xxx
