Good video. May I say that I believe the reason you’ve had jars crack in the canner is likely due to the jars being placed into boiling water. The canner water should be hot, but not actively boiling. Jars don’t take to temperature changes too well, cracking as a result. The reason they don’t crack when you pour hot liquid into them (which also should not be boiling) is because the jars are heated first. This is also why jars need to be placed on a towel or wood cutting board in a draft free place when they come out of the canner.
Peeled….unpeeled……canning WHATEVER always looks beautiful to me!
Thanks for sharing, first try, wish me luck.👍👍💕😊

How long will they last in the jars? Sorry new to this. Love your video it is simple and we'll explain.
Will you put the lid back on and when?
Hi 🙋♀️, so at the end of the video it shows you taking off the ring- why remove the ring ? Shouldn’t the ring band stay on?
Never canned potatoes before. Do they come out mushy? Can you use chicken broth instead of water? What kinds of things do you make with them when you go to use them? Ever make potato salad with them?
Joe, I love your videos! I would like to mention that, according to Ball, their jars are not meant for dry heat and putting them in the oven can weaken the glass. Canned potatoes sure do look good sitting on the shelf!
Thank you great video
Thank you for this, very helpful and I love how straight forward you are when explaining. It was very easy for me to follow along with!
It's nice to see a guy showing us. He does go straight to the point and doesn't talk too much. Thanks.
He seems to have put a lot of water in his canner, I thought u put as much as the mark at the bottom.
If you are using hot liquid then you are right to also heat your jars.
hi and thanks for your vid. I love to prep ahead and this was ideal for me. You should put links where to get a canner and the jars etc – Paul from the UK. Don't complain about the snow – we only get it where I live about once every five years if lucky!
What all can you .Can in jars cold packing
Why take the rings off at the end?
Why do you take the screw tops off at the end?
Thank you for your time and info
So, I live at an altitude of 6000ft. That would be 90 minute process in the pressure cooker @10psi correct?
I don’t have a canner. Can I water bath them?
How do you get your glass top stove high enough for pressure canning? Mine won't get high enough!
I was considering this, but I have to dehydrate my potatoes because I only have a one burner hot plate to cook on. After I vacuum seal them they're good for years and take up much less space.
Thank you for the advise when are you going to can some deer meat when you go to the cabin? love those video's

How long can you keep them?
Thank you for this
Are they crisp or mushy?
I have wasted so much food. I have never canned. You make it look so easy. I am going to try it
Are these ready to eat? Thx
Why put your canning jars in boiling water in the canner and run risk of cracking them let it come up to a boil inside the canner instead.. the safe way. Putting them in boiling water is bad advice
What is the shelf life of these potatoes once canned?
Why do you unscrew the caps after all is done? I thought you just leave them on and store them that way?
Why take off rings at the end?
Can you add rosemary or other herbs garlic etc. Have you tried that
