Claire you are a true inspiration….massive well done to you! If you ever have leeks again, another great meal is chicken and leek pie, a true favourite in our home. I hope this week you are doing just as brilliantly and hopefully a little cooler for you.

Very inspiring, thank you. Just put on my slow cooker to make a vegan curry for dinner. Way too hot for the oven being on.
I'm going to try not buy anything this week aside from veggies/ fruit

Good start! I make pizza in the air fryer as I can’t bear to put the oven on (heat and money) at present. I slice and we start eating one while the other one cooks. Also I crisp bacon in air fryer and top my pasta rather than stir it through, it seems to make more impact. You have given me the push to be creative with my supplies though.

We’ve found it really hard to eat much in this heat , so won’t touch the freezer much at the moment ,
We had chicken strip breast burgers with salad last night . Tonight it’s going to be mini home made pizza with mozzarella, ham and pineapple on wraps, and salad lol . Tomorrow it’s going to be tuna pasta onion salad with more salad lol I’m trying to use up as much as I can with fridge things at the moment before I start to attack the freezer. Will keep you posted . You’ve started off really well . Xxxx

It feels great, doesnt it, when you go a whole week without buying any food? Ive actually gone two weeks with only buying milk and bread and think that pretty darn good too!

Brilliant! I'm doing the same thing because my freezer has been full of things that I don't use and I need to get them eaten before they've "had it". We don't eat at all the same, but I'll follow this with considerable interest because I'll be doing it too. I am expecting to move at some point over the next few months, so I need to run down the freezer and my food pantry.

You did a wonderful job on this pantry challenge! I think these are my favorite videos that you post. I find pantry challenges myself the most challenging, but they’re the most rewarding.

I am spending sometimes $10-$14 for 2-3 chicken breasts. An entire precooked chicken costs $7. I have decided to try and get the precooked chicken once a month and keep some packs of the raw ones in the freezer for other dishes. I wonder if it’s the same in England? Sometimes the precooked makes more sense. Our energy has gone up as well. It’s the whole sale price of the energy not a company decision.

I love when you do these. So inspiring. You said a store pizza was a pound, in the US, we just had a store pizza for dinner and it was 6.99, for a self rising, cheese pizza. The price differences for food, around the world, just amaze me at times. Thank you for sharing. Be safe and stay well, Catherine

It's hard to eat in the hot weather, Claire. I actually ended up throwing food away, I'm sad to say. Also with the extreme heat, bread, fruit and veg went off even though I tried to keep it cool. Rain is forecast tonight! x

Great job! I'm trying to use up what we have this week as well. Our kids went back to school and it was an expensive week with school supplies, uniforms, etc. Plus one of our sons joined martial arts a few days a week, which he's loving, but wasn't cheap! We have 8 people in our house (me, husband, 5 kids, and my mom) so we go through a lot of food. I feel like I also need to do a pantry challenge.

What a great feeling to be able to eat all week without having to grocery shop. I try to stretch my shops to 10 days but on occasions can make it 2 weeks and on those weeks I am delighted as it means I have saved money, I also try to make the last week of each month a use it up week which again saves on the grocery bill.I just feel every little bit helps.

I've really challenged myself with this month's budget. Usually I do £80 for the month but I've got a lot of food in the house so decided to aim for £60. Unfortunately I had a necessary expensive purchase this week so I've now only got £10.30 left for the rest of the month 😟 Fingers crossed I can manage it, I'll be watching videos from you, Trying To Get By, and Frugal Fit Mom for budget inspiration! ☺

I am pleased I have the bell set, so I knew there was your vlog to watch. I enjoyed watching thanks. I really need to set my stall out to do this too. I just keep buying food. Way too much for me (being single), the freezer is full to the brim & still I keep buying. My fridge is full too & I am in danger of wasting meat as I've bought too much & the freezer is full, & I don't have a hope of eating it all. Going to see if I can squeeeeeze some cooked mince chicken w onion or the cooked bacon in the freezer. I really really must start 🤔
