Question: Can ham be used if bacon is not available? Also, I just may pop a mashed Chiltipin pepper in the Hoppin John. We had an abundance of these. Kathy, this looks so good, especially on a cold, wintry day. I can see us watching football and enjoying a bowl of Hoppin John along with cornbread.
