Air fryer… easy clean, food done right, plug and play, healthier due to grease strain, *faster than oven due to no preheat time*. Less wattage used in cooking in oven…simple basket no fuss wipe out. (I actually leave bacon grease etc in the pot and throw veggies and rice etc I basket to fry)
I love my air fryer; however you are very correct. I live alone & it's GREAT for cooking for one person…maybe 2. I just recently discovered the Mealthy CrispLid & I'm loving it even more than my AF. I can cook my meal in my IP & then crisp up anything that needs crisping without dirtying up another appliance!!! I can also cook in my IP without heating up the kitchen. I cooked enough biscuits for myself a couple days ago & didn't have to heat up a whole big oven. Oh yes, for 1 person that was 2 biscuits. LoL
You can get the Aroma Convection Oven and it is the old fashioned kind with the huge lid and fan at the top. It has lots of space and works better than the smaller ones they sell, a plus is that you can see your food while cooking.
How come we just cant fry the old school way…my great grandmother lived to 104 and fried food in lard, smoked a pipe, drank her whisky and used a shot gun on her porch in West Virgina lol!
Seems like these airfryers are good for cooking food already frozen. French fries being the number 1 example. Can you fry fresh potatoes, or fry up fresh chicken wings, etc…
It's not true at all that an air fryer would cook food just as fast as a conventional oven. In many circumstances, an air fryer would fry foods much faster, around 3 times as fast. You are saving energy and time. It is true that there are space limitations in an air fryer in most models. My air fryer is a 3.7 quart, but I only cook for just myself and an occasional guest.
Don't be fooled be capitalist gains an air fryer is a convection oven. They both need time to "pre heat" (get to an optimal cooking temperature), They both cook using circulation of hot air, and they both take up counter space. They are in fact the same thing just one comes with a permanent fry basket installed.
Save your money buy a 2$ cook rack and use a convection oven.
I bought an air fryer about two weeks ago after seeing so many vegans raving about it, and I'm trying to live oil-free. Laughably, the cookbook that came with it is called "Cooking Without Oil," but EVERY recipe in the book says to put oil on the food. I have not, and nothing cooks well.
If it's smaller pieces like cauliflower or broccoli florets, it chars/burns/tastes like charcoal briquettes no matter what temperature I set the dang thing at. If it's something larger, like a potato or sweet potato, it does NOT cook through before it starts burning on the outside. I've tried them whole and sliced Hasselback style. Terrible either way.
I've followed all instructions (except the oil). I've watched probably 50 or 60 YouTube videos. I usually check about six to eight online recipes for the same dish to see how temperatures and times vary. Doesn't matter. Everything tastes burnt and is generally raw in the middle. Oh, and this brand of air fryer (Gourmia) gets four stars on Amazon. For me air frying is two-thumbs (and big toes) down.
Convection ovens do not work the same way I have a convection oven and making apple chips and sweet potatoes can be a nightmare. I guess if one is reheating frozen fries it may work the same but not when using fresh vegetables.
There's no big reason to wanting new gadget.. It looks so freaking awesome that almost everyone wants one.. I have terrible headache with choosing a blender, food processor, hand blender, slow juicer, plus living in a flat with small space, where the hack i'm suppose to store things.. So no air fryer, just oven would do.. Help save the planet from electrical appliance overloading the garbage disposal.. 🤔😄
I appreciate your honesty, The convection oven is pretty much the same. But because the air fryer cook so quickly in allows me to cook quite a bit in the short amount of time. So, it would make sense if you already had the convection oven you wouldn’t get the air fryer unless you wanted to cook a smaller amount.
With my little experience using an air fryer, I'd say that yes it is fast, but you're right because I can only cook small amounts. I like to make meals that would last me a week or more and sometimes even the simple things can take three hours or more.
I'm 15 years old and my parents got me an air fryer for Christmas and I love it. I have fed me family of 6 with it and I was still to much food, I guess it all depends on what kind you get and if you are more used to an oven.
Sitting here with my wife and watching your video, just after using our air fryer, we couldn't agree with you more. Great video and wish you only good things.
I completely understand your point of view but disagree on the amount of time it cooks food, my airfryer takes just 7-8 minutes to cook frozen ilocos garlic sausages and our convection oven takes around 12-13 to get that done.
I have a convection oven and an air fryer and I don't think they work the same. The oven still needs pre-heating. I love the air fryer and wouldn't give it away for anything. I use it everyday and it takes 10-12 minutes for most frozen foods – no pre-heating needed. 🙂
I had a convection toaster oven that I LOVED, but after ten years it finally died! 🙁 I'm finally breaking down and getting an air fryer, but have considered getting a new toaster oven because the air fryers don't seem finally last as long! My toaster was in our fifth wheel, then dragged across country, and back again and I used that thing at last five nights a week, for EVERYTHING! It kills my heart that it's finally gone. I'm not sure which way I'll go, but I have to agree with you: convention toaster ovens are amazing!!!
They have a triple rack 16.9 quart at Wal-Martfor a buck forty…that'll feed an army

And appliances, like cars, do get upset

Ohh my god i love this lady! I feel like i could just sit and have my tea while she unwinds and vents about her day. Great content!

I don't , I bought one and hate it , just hate hate hate it.
You have a very valid point there.. Thnks for the feedback about the air fryer

Meh
Nowadays time is essential n we r running out of time…thus we need air fryers for every home..
Heck, I have one I wish I could give away…( Present) awful waste of money. Huge and always in the way. Can't wait until it's recalled.

The World minus NorthAmerica cannot operate Breville Smart Oven Air without a step-down transformer!!!!!

Too cute!

My air fryer cooks in a quarter of the time (or less) than a regular oven.
