Jesus is the root, not the church. We are the branches. The Bible is crystal clear that Jesus Christ is the only root and his people are the branches. So, if someone has no root in themselves it's because they're not abiding in Christ, not because they're not going to church or are isolated from other believers. Lots of persecuted believers can go years being isolated and not going to church, even the apostle John, but not one persecuted believer will last one second without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and abiding in Christ. Those who suffer tribulation and persecution don't become offended if the Spirit of Christ is dwelling in them and they in Christ. Fellowship with other believers is needful, and commanded, but the context of that passage is about someone becoming offended because they aren't abiding in Christ. One can only make it through tribulation and persecution because of Jesus (…for without me ye can do nothing).
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. 🙂

I love that you have a tradition of Homecoming! Traditions and heritage are so very important~they anchor us to deep, concrete things like Him and His word! I always love Couch Time. I think I tend to veer between the cares and concerns of this life threatening me and the good heart, and the way I combat the thorns of life is PRAYING! Pray without ceasing, in the car, in the morning, all through the day, and regularly writing down a Thankful List. I love that Pastor Bryant simplifies things and he seems to have a heart for the new believer. Let’s keep praying for those in Florida, South Carolina and your state, and for the ones who are out there tirelessly working long days to restore power and water! Thanks again or another wonderful video!

I love church cook books. when we move from one home to another my church cookbook my ruin by a cat getting in our garage. We don't have cats, at least we didn't until someone dropped some off near our home in the country.. while we were moving in. the rest is up to you. I found it when I was going threw boxes. We still have "dinner on the ground" at our Homecoming (weather permitting), but have it on loooong wooden tables with table cloths and a shed type cover over it. We set out extra smaller tables and bring our folding chairs. This years was great!

Great show !today our minister reminded us that even when man had everything from God we needed man often will turn its back and do the opposite then saying God is a good God he wouldn’t allow this to happen .. to me when I’m reality it’s our choices we make in most situations and we need to be on our watch and have a personal relationship with the Lord I heard a little bit of your preacher he was on fire . Leslie your hair looks nice lately looks like it got cut and that tenderloin looked delicious

I thank you for your sharing your love of Christ. Today especially. I have not been to Church in a good long while and I miss going. Our church will be having revival in a couple of weeks and I'm looking forward to it. I'm happy that y'all made it through Ian. I experienced my first hurricane when Ida came through. I don't mind whether you cook, shop or go on vacation! I just enjoy watching a good Christian family celebrating life even through the stressful times. God bless y'all and I'll be watching for your next video!♥🙏

Hi Leslie and Pastor Bryant! I’m so glad you’re all ok and that the power was restored. Praise the Lord! It’s also nice that you could have the fish fry and homecoming at the church. We can definitely see that you both are on fire for the Lord! I pray that I am the good soil! In Jesus’s Name!

My Mama made the pumpkin spice cake for Sunday lunch this weekend and it was a big hit, my daughter has requested that I make one. Also, I made the Alice Springs chicken and we enjoyed it very much. Have a great week!

I made your pumpkin crunch cake today….it was so good! My son liked it too.
I remember dinner on the ground when I was a kid in the 60's. We set up sawhorses under a big tree in the church yard and laid lumber across them with a table cloth. The food was spread across the table which had been cooked by church ladies. Sometimes there was a Brunswick stew cooked in a big iron pot over a wood fire. I grew up in Brunswick Co in VA…home of said stew.

homecoming sounds like what i grew up with in Louisiana. A "dinner on the ground". literally! with a blanket and everyone brings a dish and its outside and you fix your plate and eat on your quilt and fellowship.

    miss those days

Thank you for thanking the men who work on people’s power. My father was a journey lineman for a electric company where I live in Oklahoma. He has done this for 54 years. Not all people were as generous as you. Instead of being thankful they would just complain because they were out of power. Again Thank You!!

Much love and appreciation to all the linemen out there. I always appreciated them but even more so after December 2021. The storms that hit Kentucky really bad came through West Tn and completely destroyed one of the main electric towers that supplied power to my whole county. We were without power for 6 days. The linemen worked tirelessly the whole time to get our power back on. Great workers.
