My mother in law taught me to take half an apple cut side in brown sugar and put it in with the molasses cookies and keeps them super moist. Also make the dough the day before s and refrigerate over night…makes a difference!

Yep with the grandkids it’s something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read. So they got socks and underwear, book sets, and then the need has to be practical.

I figure they have so many aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc that give them toys so we like to be a bit more practical.

We've always tried to do homemade type gifts for the holidays if possible. Do you sew? You could make clothes obviously, hand puppets were always fun when mine was little, make pillow cases specific for each child, for birthday we would make a quilt every 5 plus years as they outgrew the younger one, make character hats. We even found old wool clothing at thrift store and made will mittens there are plenty of patterns online.
