With St. Patrick’s Day fast approaching, I can’t think of any better recipe than my Irish Onion Soup with Guinness along with some homemade Irish Soda Bread!
And we are back! Let me know what you think of the new format! 🙂
Ummm that was baking powder, not soda, right? Soda comes in a box, powder in a tin
I'm going to make this. Looks delicious.
Made the soup. Yum!
I love this format and great recipes! Just one tiny comment – I was getting a wee bit seasick from the camerawork.
I’m getting ready to make this soup. Is there a reason there’s no garlic listed in the written recipe? It’s in the video. Also could you estimate how many cups of onions you used? Thanks
Great to see you all back , great chef.
Can you talk about the glass door case beside your fridge? What is that and what do you use it for? Thanks!
What is the wine cellar looking thing next to his fridge?
did he grab baking powder instead of baking soda?
Dude that hair! Ur videos are unwatchable!
Welcome back!!!!
Hi Donal! In roman-catholic Poland a cross on a bread has religious meaning. Have a great Saint Patrick's Day! ☘️
I like the fact that it is real life cooking, no weighed out , chopped ingredients just to dunk in like other cooking programs. Get that from that cupboard, that drawer back and forth, clean this and that. A lot more relatable 🙂
“Pulling outta d press” luv it Donal, no fancy cupboards for us Irish, they’re pressess🇮🇪😜 and I will be trying d cheddar in d bread
I'm new to your videos, but very glad I found you. The bread looks wonderful – I'll make it. And the soup, oh, my . . . .
Cameraman/woman/person, please consider not panning/moving the camera so much while Donal is talking/chopping on the island. It's quite nauseating and difficult to enjoy the video (which is a shame cuz Donal's stories and personality is quite invigorating, so for the meantime I've just been listening to audio)
They both looked so yummy and easy to make thanks Donal
Donal, you didn't take enough time off. I am not watching this until March 16th.
He's got sich a baby face 😀
Hey Grandma Boy happy to see you again😍
ooh glad you’re back !! this looks so good
I would really want to see you and Gemma from bigger bolder baking cook or bake something!
Love your recipes and descriptions. Spent several months in Ireland more t(h)an a few years back. Lovely place. All the grannies reminded me of my own grandma (she was 100% Irish and her parents immigrated to Canada a bit more than a hundred years ago).
I enjoy watching you cook! You make it look simple and easy to do. .
Love the new format – Not just cos it's a nice homely recipe, but because you seem happier and more relaxed doing it. Love it. Keep it coming, good to have you back!
Any recipe with Guinness in it is bound to be a winner! I’m definitely going to give this a try.
Unfortunately I don’t have an oven though, so I can’t make the bread 😭
The master is back!,☘️💚🙏🏻
Glad your back Donal! Love the Recipe. I have one question – since i’m cooking st. Paddys dinner for only vegeterians i would need a substitute for the beef broth… would vegetable broth work too? Or what would you recommend?
Love the new very real / raw und not so staged format your doing – reminds me of my own cooking method 😅
I love the way you speak; to tell the truth, your accent was the main reason why I started watching your videos.
(The recipes also look wonderful, but unlike with other cooking channels, I watch your videos even when I'm not looking for new things to try because your voice and personality make your content so enjoyable that it's better than any series/etc. I would watch for relaxation.)
So I'm really glad you're back, and let me just thank you for being the wonderful person you are.
I've never had Guinness, or enjoyed any kind of beer, but hearing you describe the chocolate flavor of the Guinness has me reconsidering… 🙂
Guinness in the soup and not in the bread I think you missed a chance there
That was quick, running out of money in L.A. eh 😢😢😢
Looks so good! I can’t wait to make this!
I turned Wolf of Wall St. to apples. Please share my site
watching this video made me want to buy some irish cream to put with in my tea
This format reminds me of your early shows in the kitchen. Nice.
Yeah! Y’all are back❣️
Hey! You weren't gone long!. I knew you would be back on my screen sooner than later lol
Good recipe idea and new format but how many times have you kicked those Dog Bowls over walking past them?
your kitchen is beautiful …and i love your hair
Welcome back. Best wishes for St Patrick's Day, especially Oliver as it is his first. This is a treat for this part-Irish girl, recalling the "tour of the coast" trip she took to Ireland roughly a decade ago while watching this video. I love Guinness w/ Ribena syrup (my first alcoholic drink of adulthood at 18) Onion Soup, and Soda Bread, so this is triply great.
Love the new format! Very homey. Woah love the tea towel hint. That may explain a lot about my last attempt 😄
welcome back!
"I don't know what happened, but it happened." <—- me describing my 20s.
Is it me, or is he pronouncing his name differently? Like, more American-friendly?
