I’m getting ready to make this soup. Is there a reason there’s no garlic listed in the written recipe? It’s in the video. Also could you estimate how many cups of onions you used? Thanks

I like the fact that it is real life cooking, no weighed out , chopped ingredients just to dunk in like other cooking programs. Get that from that cupboard, that drawer back and forth, clean this and that. A lot more relatable 🙂

Cameraman/woman/person, please consider not panning/moving the camera so much while Donal is talking/chopping on the island. It's quite nauseating and difficult to enjoy the video (which is a shame cuz Donal's stories and personality is quite invigorating, so for the meantime I've just been listening to audio)

Love your recipes and descriptions. Spent several months in Ireland more t(h)an a few years back. Lovely place. All the grannies reminded me of my own grandma (she was 100% Irish and her parents immigrated to Canada a bit more than a hundred years ago).

Any recipe with Guinness in it is bound to be a winner! I’m definitely going to give this a try.
Unfortunately I don’t have an oven though, so I can’t make the bread 😭

Glad your back Donal! Love the Recipe. I have one question – since i’m cooking st. Paddys dinner for only vegeterians i would need a substitute for the beef broth… would vegetable broth work too? Or what would you recommend?

Love the new very real / raw und not so staged format your doing – reminds me of my own cooking method 😅

I love the way you speak; to tell the truth, your accent was the main reason why I started watching your videos.
(The recipes also look wonderful, but unlike with other cooking channels, I watch your videos even when I'm not looking for new things to try because your voice and personality make your content so enjoyable that it's better than any series/etc. I would watch for relaxation.)
So I'm really glad you're back, and let me just thank you for being the wonderful person you are.

I've never had Guinness, or enjoyed any kind of beer, but hearing you describe the chocolate flavor of the Guinness has me reconsidering… 🙂

Welcome back. Best wishes for St Patrick's Day, especially Oliver as it is his first. This is a treat for this part-Irish girl, recalling the "tour of the coast" trip she took to Ireland roughly a decade ago while watching this video. I love Guinness w/ Ribena syrup (my first alcoholic drink of adulthood at 18) Onion Soup, and Soda Bread, so this is triply great.
