When my granddaughter started Pre-K, my daughter purchased some half-cup containers and spent about an hour on Sunday afternoon positioning fruit, yogurt, veggies/dip, etc. She set up a drawer in the fridge with all of the little cups as well as cheese sticks and such. Peanut butter sandwiches were made every other day so they wouldn't get soggy. So this procedure made for easy lunch packing that has carried over unto Kindergarten, or snack time. My granddaughter knows she can grab something from her drawer when she's hungry and wants a snack.

All that high sugar is not good for kids , high protein and cheeses would be much better especially for their teeth , gummy snack and raisins are the worst, I thought the food bank would give healthy options as are youth are to overweight as it is

I always enjoy your videos. I never did snack bins like this. I would have some snacks available and they would choose. I absolutely love the way your daughter decorated your bag container! I need one of those in my life. Keep the videos coming.

We had 3 kids. Each got their own bin. Id put in as many snacks as i wanted them to have during the week. Usually 2-3 per day if on the healthier side. Everyone got the same things. If you ate 5 snacks in a day instead of the allotted amount then part of your week was without snacks. I also did a free range eat all you want veggie and fruit tray in the fridge. It stopped the mindless grazing we were ALL doing!

Great idea. Would each child having their own snack bin be more helpful. Divide everything up per child and let them eat what they want without having to keep track that it’s divided evenly? Just put their name on a bin.

My kids are now all older teens and we still have a tote or bin on the table that are the snack area. It also gets used as the leftover bin. If a box of something is almost empty we dump it in that bin. That way we can see we need to get more. Granola bars, individual mac and cheese, peanut butter crackers, and a lot of the same types of things as you have. You can also put together a fresh fruit and veggies snack packs in the fridge.

I used to do the snack organizer thing also. My 3 young children would complain that one of the others ate too much of something and they would not get a fair portion. They each had their own snack bin that we would create on Sunday as an activity together so that they could see that nobody got extra snacks. They were free to eat whatever was theirs BUT once their bin was empty, they did not get a refill until Sunday when we filled it again. This helped them learn snack control and to understand that they have to make good choices. Any of the single snacks that I had would be given as a reward for a task completed. If one wanted that single snack, they had to earn it so that they all knew it was fairly given. That created a want for the children to help with chores.
