I wanted to give a shout out to Tanya's Channel –
    MY FORKING LIFE
She made a cake like this, and did something brilliant. I've been a pretty good cook my entire life, yet I never thought to do what Tanya did with her recipe. Are you ready????
    GRATE YOUR VERY COLD BUTTER,
2 ENTIRE STICKS That was a genius tip I thought, so Paula…what do you think? This will change the consistency of your cake for the better, or should I say – BUTTER y'all!🤗

I love this for a lot of reasons. It’s so good! It’s easy. Most importantly to me, it’s the first recipe my Mother ever taught me (I am 68). I feel mighty sentimental about this recipe.

Ms. Deen looks like an old slowly deflating balloon… with diabetes. It blows my mind that she's still recommending foods that put her in this position in the 1st place. "Hey my health turned to crap… but eat up morons!"

I make the dump cake differently. Put 1 can Crushed Pineapple including the juice in the bottom of a 9 X 12 baking pan. Spread it as evenly as possible. Use 2 cans of Cherry Pie Filling on top of the pineapple.Spread it evenly over the Pineapple. Dump the dry contents of a Yellow Cake Mix over the Cherry Pie Filling, and level it out so it covers everything. Take 2 sticks of Cold Butter and cut them into pats and place them on top of the cake mix. Bake at 350°F until golden brown. + or – 60 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack for 1 hour before cutting.

I've had this recipe since the 1970's and it's the best!

About 57 years ago I had my first cherry pineapple dump cake from a stepmother. I never had the recipe but I’m so glad I found it. Thank you for posting it. I’m going to make one for my daughter-in-law today for Mother’s Day.!

I like to freeze my butter for a couple of hours then grate it into the cake mix. Stir it in well then spread it out on the fruit. for special occasions I'll add some cream cheese along with the butter. Freeze it and grate it just like you do with the butter. You could leave the butter out but it's butter and we all know butter makes it better.

Gotta say I love watching Miss Paula cook. Reminds me of the way my mom cooked.
