Which mysterious "Italian" dish should we investigate next?
Harper! these short films are works of art. and what a sense of humor, spaghetti code…were you a programmer in a previous life? Eva, you are also an artist, watching you prepare food with love to produce all these amazing dishes. I wait to see you circle your fork after you take a bite 👌
So part 1 was a Spaghetti Western, part 2 is DaVinci (Spaghetti code). I love these videos.
Side Note: I just want to know where Harper got that decoder contraption thingy at the opening scene.
Love the mini scenes at the beginning 😂😂
Is there a special dish for Mother’s Day in Italy 🇮🇹 or special dessert 🍮? What’s like?😌
Thank you so much for teaching us these differences. As always you two are so funny, and just a delight to watch. Much love!
Historian answer: No. But its still authentic italian food. Meat is expensive, and italy was under a period of hardship that saw a lot of immigration to america, where wages were much higher and meat was much cheaper, so the real actual italian people said "oh wow this is amazing lets use this cheap meat". So calling it not italian food is bullshit, as the recipe was invented and used by real italians, just not in italy. I dont think that makes it inauthentic, and its delicious food. if there is one things italians love more than pizza and pasta, its criticizing people for cooking pizza and pasta differently from them.
fucking hilarious
The real name of meatballs is Polpette.
Signed off after seeing your mockery of ‘ The Last Supper’. Afraid that was a little too far.
I absolutely love pasts, but I have problems with gluten in flour, so I usually feel horrible after eating pasta. I just wonder if Italians experiencing similar problems since they consume a lot of pasta?
❣️
That Chitarra looked more like a harp(*something, something, Harper, something*) 😛
Being of Abruzzese decent, I am very familiar with spaghetti alla chitara (with or without meatballs). Thank you for making a dish from the Abruzzo region. I grew up eating that dish because it was my father’s favorite pasta. Love it! Love all these great videos from Italy!
That was some Ezio Auditore shit at the begining, lol.
When I was a kid, my Italian grandma made noodles and red sauce. Meatballs were a second course. Do not remember the tiny meatballs.
Eva has the most gorgeous hair I have ever seen.
Good meatballs are oven cooked and served with sauce (gravy). No pasta is ever to touch a meatball. Spaghetti and meatballs is an American invention.
When did Eva start cooking? It looks like she's been making pasta for 30 years.
Spaghetti and meatballs started with italian immigrants.
Chef Boyardee was a real person. His real last name was Boiardi.
These weird Italian hangups drive me nuts! Spaghetti and meatballs is an Italian-American dish. We came here before there was established restaurant Etiquette where there is multiple courses.
I actually prefer meat sauce. I've never liked spaghetti & meatballs.
no meat? why bother?
Vi voglio bene, ma le meatball sono molto piu' piccole in Abbruzzo, per carita' le avete fatte bene, pero' per assicurarsi che si attaccano alla pasta. Devono essere piu' piccole. Viva la cucina italiana! Parola da Chef
Will Eva ever think about doing a cooking show on her own I would love to watch and maybe create a cook book with authentic Italian foods
Che gustose polpette!
To close, it’s instructive to look at the writings from 1950 of Sicilian restauranteur Niccoló de Quattrociocchi, as quoted in Mariani’s book:
Niccoló de Quattrociocchi reported in his memoirs that he’d dined at an Italian restaurant “where I was introduced to two very fine, traditional American specialties called ‘spaghetti with meatballs,’ and ‘cotoletta parmigiana,’” which he thought were “just for fun called Italian,” but added “as a matter of fact, I found them both extremely satisfying and I think someone in Italy should invent them for Italians over there.” – the Smithsonian Channel

Mia madre faceva pasta e polpette insieme nello stesso piatto. ma la motivazione e che così dopo doveva lavare meno piatti, quindi prima si mangiava la pasta e dopo le polpette. Stessa cosa per le spuntature
just the why my grandmother made it. wow very yummy.
Le polpettine le ho mangiate solo nella lasagna, mai negli spaghetti, ma questi sono invitanti anche per me 😋😋😋😋
