THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for your help.. you literally said all that I was thinking in that first 10 seconds.
The second time I used the instapot I kept getting the burn message with a chicken and rice dish. The rice was all stuck to the bottom. With your layering method, can I put in the chicken first and rice on top and get the same results even though the rice isn't sitting in water? I used to have a cheaper brand and I feel it worked better. My experience has been disappointing. Have you ever lined with parchment paper to prevent this?
Thank you so much for your guidance!💕💕
This is very helpful. Thank you.
Very informative. How nice you take the time to respond to us. Best wishes!
Very helpful!
💕 Thank you ! I wasn't quite sure what I'd done or didn't do to get the BURN message, because I usually go thru everything before the final turn on. While I didn't deglaze after sauteing, I thought my Pot's bottom was clean all the way around. I missed the area closest to me, in front.
Thank you for the idea to turn off & pour everything into another container. My problem was my pot was still highly pressurized, so I had to wait for the QR, which wasn't that quick ! HaHa I do have pasta in mine as well, but I put it on top as instructed. So once I cleaned my pot, I turned it back on with Zero minutes. Hoping it comes out not too mushy. 🙋🏻♀️💗
you're amazingly helpful, thank you so very much, be blessed!
never thought about the no stir method or layering. but that's SO HELPFUL!
Ohhh my issue may be my sealing ring THANK YOU!
Finally somebody that knows what she is talking about thank you so much!
good info, but normally you don't have to take everything out, you just need to reset it. cancel, release pressure, seal, restart. This is of course assuming you have at least a half cup of water/liquid in it. It needs the water/liquid to create the steam that pressurizes it.
I’m thinking I’m not a fan of this thing after all ….. 🙁
I think its important to advise the people watching this to release the pressure on the cooker before attempting to open it. Safety first.
very helpful video. Thanks for taking the time.
I have tried making chicken biryani more than 10 times. Each time there is a burn message. I have tried deglazing, cooling pot, transferring ingredients and even saute all my ingredients in another pot before transferring and layering, but still i get the burn sign.
This is very helpful!!!!! Thanks!!!
I just started using mine yesterday and made some soup. While it was pressurizing the BURN message would flash in and out on ON. I turned it off, wasnt pressurized at all, and tried again and it was fine. Today im cooking beans and the same thing happened except I ignored it, and the message went away, and everything looks normal, and nothing is burned, perfect beans! …….???? Might have to try the water test to see if maybe its defective. So weird. Could it be that the outside of the inner pot was a tiny bit wet? I had just pulled it from the dishwasher.
You roooooock!
Boy did you get my number right in the first 20 seconds! OUCH!
Can somebody please tell me where you were when Instant Pot was on QVC and they left this important information out? They should of had you on. Thanks again your AWESOME!
Lol I love how you called me right out. Yes brand new just came today! Was super excited. Started cooking something. Got a burn notice. THANK YOU!
“Burn” Error—surprised you didn’t suggest to call India.
Excellent video. Thanks
Thank you for the info, I had the burn message because I put too much oatmeal to the pot!!! Dummy me!!!
I was so excited to start cooking with instant pot and now I have so much stress… I double liquid and it's still burning and all my food looks like burning soup… It didn't worth the money … But , I do like your video:)
Thank you for making this video and being so very through. I now have some techniques to prevent this from continuing to happen.
Anything we make gives us this BURN message with next to no burning evident, scrub the pot and return our ingredients then get a BURN error. Very disgruntled and annoyed! Thanks for all the tips, we tried them all.
Have a chicken on the rack, not touching the pot, more than enough water STILL have the message, so is the water burning?
6,856 views, guess I’m not the only one burning food in the Instant Pot! Twice I’ve removed my food, cleaned the pot and let it cool. And again, third time “Burn Food” message. Texas Chili is now simmer in the ol’ dutch oven pot on the stove. Thank you so much for your video! Very well done and informative.
Eating this burnt steak……yum more water
Aww man, I have to remove everything?! My dish was layered. Dinner is ruined.
Thank you soooo much for relieving my stress over the Burn message. You are grrreat!
Why does steam come out through the sides
I just had this in my new pot, thank you for this video! I mixed rice & water according to directions plus kale and white fish. The meal recipe says "8 minutes" but after 2 minutes I receive burn message. I hit cancel, removed the food. Food though was totally done. (Weird, huh?) We ate the food. Yum then I soaked the pot to scrub.
Thank you!
Please make lamp or chicken Biryani using instant pot showing us the details of time and pressure level .. as we are new starters of instant pot (new users ) ..thanks
Wish I had watched this before trying to cook chicken and rice as my first meal with the instant pot! I put rice a roni in the bottom and got the burn message 4 times in a row lol. Thanks!!!
I used four times the amount of water needed and still got the burn message. It was noodles though and the first thing I tried to cook. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you.
