Wow, just bought mine 2 days ago and it doesn’t have manual button……hmmm
stunning! thanks for the lid holder
About the tip at 9:13 : pressing "saute" to jumpstart the pressurizing — does this require water in the pot?
I just wanted to tell you that after watching a few of your videos I jumped in and started using my pressure cooker AND I love it!! Like many I hesitated and had it on a shelf for a good year before you gave me the courage to "just do it", so I did! Thank you for helping me make that big move because now I will be using it A LOT because it's so easy, so quick, and a truly great addition to my kitchen! I couldn't have done it without you, so thanks so much for your videos!
Great video!
I appreciate you took the time to share these tips. I just had my first lid won't close and could see the float was even with the pop there for I learn I had to make it was flush out so it did not stick in the position and I will be able to use my IP.
Can’t wait til every one gets one the price will be 15.00$ for one
I will not buy any pressure cooker that does not have stainless steel inner pot. I do not trust those coatings on other pots. they told us teflon was okey for us, it is not.
Pioneer woman instapot
I’m still a newbie to Instant Pot (got 1st one in December 2018). I’ve been watching as many YT videos as possible. One thing that seems universal is about 99.9% of the people say "I never use the pre-set buttons. I only use the manual button." Then I saw a video about the guy who invented the Instant Pot. He was a genius & as we all know he put a lot of thought into this thing. Why would he put all of those buttons there just to have people ignore them. So, I decided to play with the buttons. After reading the manual it became clear that you can personalize those buttons – except for the rice & yogurt.
When you press "eggs", the factory setting pops up (I can’t remember what the number was). The factory setting for eggs is set for jumbo eggs & hard boiled. I want medium boiled (cooked white & soft yolk). It took many tries but I ended with 2 mins, mode is "less" & and the pressure is low. So, the next time I go to cook some medium eggs all I have to do is press eggs & it remembers the last settings I used. Isn’t that cool? You can set all of those buttons to your specific choices & it will remember it. Maybe everyone already knew this but I liked the idea of personalizing the I-pot. Then at least the buttons will be useful.
Thank you. I just today got the instant pot. Your video helped a bit with the learning curve
You are a great teacher! Thank you for sharing your helpful advice and instruction! You were very helpful! I am now subscribed to you!
Instant pot! 😸
I am new to the instant lot and you helped me out so much! Thank you p.s. I thought I was the only one not to use my instant lot right away! Gail S.
Fabulous job. You have taken the mystery out of this new kitchen tool for me and moved me from "what do I do with this" to "wow, this is a handy item." Looking forward to more recipes. The trick about the cover is great!
I just got mine today and I can’t wait to use it !!This was very helpful so thanks so much!!
Very nice demo. Thanks. Just want to know as I am new to it, should we put water inside the main pot other than steel vessel ( outside) kindly reply
Just got an Instant Pot! Loved your video, it is very helpful.
Just to clarify the Instant pot comes in different models, the one used here is the IP-Duo60 6qt it is not created equal to the IP-Lux60 v3 which is also a 6qt, and what I bought at Walmart here's whats different…on the Lux you have a new cake & egg, setting instead of the bean.chilli, poultry, and yogurt setting. Also there isn't a low pressure and high pressure on the Lux everything on the Lux cooks at high pressure. I like the featured handles here on the Duo model which the Lux does not have, they are solid so you have to lay your lid on the counter, which is messy because of the condensation on the lid after cooking. So I guess its a trade off as to what is important to you and price. I don't know that the Duo is any different in price since it is also a 6qt, for my comparison if the the Duo is the same price or a few bucks more I would go with it because of the handles feature and the low pressure cooking capability; otherwise mine works very well and I like the fact that I can do eggs and cake and don't think i would ever use the yogurt setting. On the other hand its probably possible to just use the manual time setting on the Duo model for cakes and eggs.. so….
Thank you, thank you, thank you.. i got one for Christmas.. and i watched your video first.
When getting ready to cook do u turn on instant pot before placing food inside or after putting food inside
I received an instant pot for Christmas and know quite literally nothing about the instant pot. This video was so helpful. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing these useful tips, just got an instant pot!
Great tips, thank you!!
Just got mine yesterday for Christmas from my son and decided to dive right in! Making chicken noodle soup for sickly husband!
EXCELLENT!!
Is manual high or low ? I do not have a manual I have a knob and it says high or low when you turn it. Do I cook my eggs 5/5/5 0n low pressure or high for hard boiled eggs?
You can take the seal off to clean it. Just make sure it’s put all the way back in. 🙂
I just got an instant pot (early lol) for Christmas! I appreciate your video so much! Easiest I've seen. I wish I would have found you forever ago 🙂 looming forward to watching more on your channel!
Love your style and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tips…as with most things in our lives…"when all else fails, read the directions". The thing with the lid having a place to rest is one of the first things I learned about my pot when looking through the directions. I learned years ago the importance of reading the directions…it was something that was stressed to me in class when I was first starting out doing hair. There was a long running joke that stated "If you want to hide something from a hairdresser, put in in the directions. They will never see it there!" I have come to learn that statement applies to almost any career or person.
I bought a viva model and I didn't try it yet and I am afraid to use it at the same time, I will see many videos and read the manual before I use it. Safety first when you use it
I just got an instant pot. Searched recipes and I’m so glad I came across your video on the tips. Thank you so much.
Just a little tip we have a separate rubber seal of our pot for making desserts.
So the seal doesn't smell like onions while making cakes.
Thanks for the video I just purchased one today and am trying to use it
Thank you so much for this! This answered a lot of questions… just got my pot this past weekend! 🙂
I just bought the latest version of this device.. The IP-LUX80 8 quart. It is replacing an old Wolfgang Puck Electric pressure cooker. This thing is fantastic!! So many features!! I am going to break it in with a nice Pot Roast..
Question: When using the sauté button, the lid is NOT locked on and under pressure WHILE sautéing the stuff, right??
Great tut, at 72 my instant pot that came yesterday would just be a brand new accessory in my kitchen without your guiding hand. Thanks a lot.
