This is a hearty, delicious soup using your leftover ham bone. The spices are absolutely perfect. It doesn’t need a thing!! You are going to love this soup!
First words out …when cooking beans in a pressure cooker, only fill your pot half full..,then you added it to over 3/4s full…which is it 1/2 or over 3/4 full?
Hello, '"Hands That Cook".
This popped up on my subscription list this afternoon. One thing I like to do is get a ham on sale, divide it, freeze it, then add to my beans later. I recently divided a pack of ham hocks into about 5 – 6 parts. They've helped stretch my budget many times. Thankfully, we love beans of almost any kind.
Keep sharing your love for cooking, Mam. It seems you've helped a lot of folks in the past with your knowledge.
North Central AL here. 🙂
I make bean soup with a ham shank or smoked ham hocks quite often in my 6 qt Instant Pot. Your recipe looks good. Except no cooked carrots allowed. haha
That sure looks delicious thanks for the video. 😋😋
Pumpkin Recently on a Diners show, the restaurant New Orleans chef added Pumpkin to her beans.
I made this for dinner tonight, using my leftover ham bone from my Christmas ham. It was awesome! Great video and great recipe.

Hi, Linda. Your ham bone and bean soup looks beautiful. I am truly impressed with the texture and the flavor. I wish you a splendid Valentine's Day, Linda. God bless you.
Yummy !
No rinsing of the beans from the bag?
Made this twice now, it's a keeper.
Thanks for making the video!
This is definitely a 'Flup' Soup. So 'Full-Up' with ingredients there's no room for any more lol, a term that was born in our house years ago when I was little, it came from a joke my Daddy told us, and just became part of Family Speak for any soup that hardly had room for the soup. Looks Delicious!
Nothing better than ham and beans! Or any smoked meat and beans! A staple in Macedonia. I love this hearty soup. Right up my alley! MMmmmmmm
what is PSi mean
Your bean & ham soup looks delicious! Thank you for sharing your recipe. You have gained a new subscriber.
I was gifted a half a ham (bone-in) for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I plan to use the bone for soup, too. Although there are so many different recipes out there, I just use what ingredients I have on hand that compliments beans and ham really well. With that said, I will write down your recipe and save it to try later on.
Merry Christmas to you and yours. 🙂
This will be a great fall recipe! As soon as I get a ham I'll have to try it. The thought had crossed my mind for about 2 seconds to just use spam, but I seriously doubt the taste would compare.
Where do I get the ingredient amount?
+handsthatcook your pressure cooker dial/control setting looks exactly like mine. Mine is a Wolfgang Puck Brand electric pressure cooker. Do you mind telling me what kind you are using in this video.
Your soup looks delicious! I love making 15 bean soup! As soon as I can find a hambone I'm making this in my pressure cooker
Now make a double batch of home made cornbread from scratch and you have a meal fit for a king!
Were you using a stove top PC or an Electric? The cooking time will be slightly different.
The soup loses a lot without the bone. Even using cubed ham will never have the same flavor as a bone. All that nice marrow and tissue in the broth adds more to the soup than people would think.
first real soup I ever made homemade its amazing thanks for sharing
OMG! Just AWESOME, I don't know how to thank you, this is sooooo good!!!! 🙂

What size in quarts is your pc?
Soup looks amazing.
People are too stupid. NEVER, EVER COOK BEANS IN A PRESSURE COOKER. IT CAN AND WILL EXPLODE. IF YOURS HASN'T YET, YOU'VE JUST BEEN LUCKY.
DO NOT DO IT.
