This video was bananas! (Excuse the pun) It would be awesome if you could make a video on how to do custard separately! (Unless I'm blind and one already exists) 🎉

For the cooks, I made this and genius on no tempering eggs separately. Yay. This is banana cream pie!! You can use all half and half or 4 cups milk or 2 cups cream 2 c milk or this way!! You could use 1/4 cup flour 1/4 starch too. All starch is super fluffy!!! It's banana cream pie. Cream puff filling or donut filling made ez. 😍 Thank you!!

My issue is that the bananas don't keep very well. Maybe the best compromise would be to assemble the pudding without banana, and then slice up fresh banana to garnish individual servings right before you serve it. Thoughts?

This looks so delicious i'm definitely making this. I just love you Emma, you always get to the point, and you don't do the unnecessary steps like in the custard, or in your macaroons recipe where you straight up said that not adding lemon to the meringue does not make a difference like TOTALLY. You are so right, no one is making meringues with that left over egg whites and i love that you use the whole egg. Your banana cake with custard topping is still my favorite on your channel so i guess i love banana pudding with the banana 🤍🍌

Awww Emma, this brings forth sooo many memories of my childhood as my Grandparents, mama and aunt have been making this since the 1950’s/60’s. 😭 Such a nostalgic/delicious dessert and perfect for summer time, even more delicious day after! Ps: BANANAS ARE A MUST! it’s not the same without them, I usually go bananas with it and put EXTRA bananas!! 😅 🍌 🍌🍌🍌❤️‍🔥

For those who love banana; you can replace 1 or 2 eggs (i think 1 is plenty) with banana. You can (always!!) substitute one egg wirh 1 ripe, mashed banana. This way, the pudding has a banana flavor. You can also use this if you make banana buttercream based on custard.

It's not banana pudding without bananas. It's just not. I agree with you. It's the thought of everything together. It's comforting but you got to have bananas in it. Only thing is bananas can turn brown if it's not made that day. Are you toss it in lemon to keep it from browning. The flat out it's not banana pudding. If you don't have bananas in it, it's just not. Great job girl🎉

Fruit and cream fillings I really prefer combined with berries or the classic poire Belle Hélène (pear and dark chocolate). But to be honest I also love the classic Portuguese bolo de bolacha wich is a cold fridge cake with coffee buttercream and Maria cookies layers. I never tried this banana pudding but want to and will try your take on it! I usually don't like banana in desserts but I really rely on everything you create! Thank you Emma!
