Thank you so much! This was the best I’ve found.
Awesome. Thx
is it possible to make super soft, well cooked white rice with soft grains in the MINI Duo?
I have severe chronic bowel issues and I can only eat soft rice. I´m looking for a kitchen tool/machine where I can cook soft rice in bulk (300-400g raw weight)
I appreciate every tipp or suggestion or a review if the instant pot is a helpful tool for cooking really soft rice without texture but not total mush.
thank you very much for your valuable time and help
Best regards,
Helmut
Very informative. I now know I will be cooking my rice in my Instant Pot!! In fact I'm making my first batch of rice right now! Thanks
Just so people know, the Rice button actually uses the Instant Pot's internal sensors to judge when to stop cooking the white rice. This makes the Instant Pot more like a rice cooker which also uses sensors to ensure perfectly cooked white rice. So, while you can manually set up your Instant Pot to cook rice according to your preferences, the Rice button takes all of the guesswork out of cooking the white rice like a dedicated rice cooker.
You're concise to the point and walla you're done.
I have 1st time ever 8 qt insta pot appreciate to the point videos.
Works for me 🏴
Even if you were just making rice, I don't see any reason you wouldn't do it pot in pot. There's no chance of scorching it and the cleanup is much easier.
Very impressive information!
Is there a way to set the release for 5 minutes?
Watching IP videos made me miss my IRL IPs significant "beeeps". Left rice steaming too long.
Thanks for the rice tips!
Thanks a lot!
Hi Nili, Thanks for the pot in pot demo; I've been looking for info on that. I have the stacking pots, so I can try it. I just want to say that I have cooked both short grain and long grain, brown rice using the rice setting and it comes out great(for my taste). I don't understand why everyone I've heard, says that the rice setting is ONLY for white rice.
So great to see this video!! 😊😊. Where did you get the stainless steel bowls?
I don't think a steamer basket would work here do you?
So to cook white jasmine rice, you use 2 pyrex measuring cups worth or is it 2 cups, of the small, plastic cup that comes with the IP Mini?
And the 2 cups water, that is 2 pyrex cup sizes, then?
Your amazing! I was looking for a way to cook both rice and meat together. Don't have the funds to get a separate rice cooker. This video helps a lot!
Nili what do you do to get your rice to NOT be sticky I can’t stand a sticky rice thanks !!!
I didn't even think of that. I was making some meatballs earlier for lunch and could have cooked my rice in with it. I just used my 3qt pot to cook my rice. Good to know. Thanks
Wonderful.!
Thank you , thank you, thank you for this video!!!
Did you do a brown rice video? I did a search and didn't find one. Thanks for your great IP videos!
You always do a really nice job on your videos. Thank you.
My rice turned out perfect!🙂
Thank you so much for you helpful videos. Love them. I'm going to give this a try. Take care
Thanks so much for this video! I wanted to get rid of my non-stick rice cooker and was hesitant about cooking perfect rice in my instant pot. I’d seen several different instructions of which I tried, but my rice wasn’t quite the way I liked it. Your method seems foolproof, so I am cooking rice tomorrow. 👍🏾
Just what I needed for tonight’s dinner. Thank you.
Or put it in a regular pot?
Love your background music.
A great and very helpful video. I've cooked rice twice with mixed results. This video has answered some of my questions and next time I do rice, it will be with more confidence. Thank you!
Will you do a video on brown rice too? Always more of a challenge for me.
Just tried this. Worked perfectly! Thanks so much for this video.
Great video.Thanks for sharing…..
Just what I needed to know.
Thank you. I'm new to instant pot cooking and this is really helpful.
I find the rice cooked in an insta pot tends to stick to the bottom of the metal pot. Will try your method to see if it comes out better. We don't rinse our rice. Would you show us how to cook brown rice?
Where did you get that strainer you rinsed the rice in? I love your videos.
What a great video tutorial, you are such a pro at this. Thank you so much for explaining and showing the two ways to do rice. And thank you for sharing your know how with all of us. I just discovered you last you and must say you are quite impressive and I know you will be helping me a lot. Thanks again. Claudia
Thank you for your tutorial 🙂
Thanks! Great info, Nili……
The two cups of rice that you added was that measured with the cup that comes up with instant pot or regular measuring cup?
Thanks for the video. What do you think about using broths instead of water?
Never had luck with white rice, brown rice or Jasmine rice in my Instant Pot.
Almost gave up on rice altogether until I tried basmati rice PIP. Came out absolutely perfect first time. So I make it at least once a week now.
I almost always use PIP in my Instant Pot, for easier cleanup and for quickly storing the leftovers in the bowl it was cooked in. (Easier to get every grain out of a bowl than the deep inner pot!) I do this for grits and oatmeal as well because I always want to make enough for leftovers.
I would love tips on PIP quinoa and brown rice. Couscous and barley PIP would also be great. I love grains when I have just a little meat/fish or leftover roasted vegetables to use up.
I only cook in the inner pot if I need to brown, make soups or large amounts, like greens.
Ty
Thanks for the info. Love your IP videos. I am one of those people who just uses the rice button and I also use the measurements inside the pot for rice. Perfect every time. I have also found that for wild rice (I also make your wild rice soup. Love that!) I just cut the time in half and cook on high pressure.
I'm loving your videos so far, just subscribed. I also love your Mini Blankslate Cheesecake video. I live for my Instant Pot, it's such a frugal way to cook. I just re-vamped my Frugal living channel here on Youtube, (Rhiana Reports), please feel free to stop by and say Hi!
Thank you.
