Have you ever tried a portabella mushroom sandwich? If you can grill it with onion and red bell pepper after marinating all three vegetables in an Italian dressing mix. Serve it with a Cajun Mayo or the GV Shrimp yum yum sauce.

I made a casserole that feeds six people today for $3.56. It is a Mexican flavored casserole. It has : rice .88, can of cream of mushroom soup .68, can of Fiesta Nacho Cheese Soup $1.72, can of GV rotel .88, sausage .63( got 1-lb ground sausage on sale for $2.50 and only used 1/4 of it for casserole), tsp of garlic salt, tsp of onion powder, tab of taco seasoning, 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of water, dried cilantro ( all seasoning had on hand). If you want to not buy cheese soup and you have can of Rotel and velveeta to make cheese dip…you can substitute 10.5 oz of cheese dip for cheese soup and will not need more Rotel. If GV brand of Rotel not spicy enough, get a fresh jalapeño and dice it up in cheese dip then add to casserole ingredients. Also add tsp of cumin, and a little chili powder( opt). Mix all together and pour into a greased 13x9x2 casserole dish( I use casserole that I cooked bacon in from breakfast to give it more flavor). Then sprinkle with some Mexican blend cheese or cheddar and bake in 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes. I served it with Italian bread got at Walmart bakery reduced area for .65. Add a couple cans of green beans for vegetable for $1.00. Just saw a package of link sausage at WM for $1.78. I was including this as my price for sausage. If you have a Kroger near you watch the sales! Just bought milk for .97, and my JD ground sausage for $2.50. I will make a pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza with a fourth of sausage, made some sausage gravy for breakfast and will make either a pasta bake( get your pasta in Mexican Isle of WM for a .48 cents bag( 7.5 oz). Or make a copy cat soup from Olive Garden, with sausage, potatoes ( already have), kale and cream. All of this from one 1/lb pkg of sausage. I also make my own homemade Marinara sauce and pizza dough ( though you can buy a pkg of GV pizza mix for .72. Just some ideas for everyone.
