I never thought about using preserves as a filling for fried pies. I’m in Tennessee and my grandma used to dry out her apples on a sheet of tin payed out on a dried up concrete minnow pond in her yard. So the only kind of fried pies I ever made was my nanny’s dried fried apple pies and biscuit dough pastry. My dad likes cherries…I think I will give this a try.
