Wood on that bench would be really pretty! I would personally maybe do a stained medium wood tone with no cushionsโฆ.it wouldnโt match the black but if the wood is pretty it will be like an accent.

The bench idea: Repaint or Stain – Add a new top piece for sitting on. That's what my sister did. She had the same one. She had to router (round off) the edged so her kids wouldn't get scratched. It is still lasting over 6 years now.

Uno is a favorite game around here! We've had the same uno cards ever since our kids were little. And they are now in there thirties. U waa just thinking about that watching you and Sissy play. It may be time to buy new uni cards! Lol

I think stripping the bench right to the wood and refinishing it then just putting a cushion on it would be a good idea. Manley sure is such a bright light in this crazy world โค

I've not felt good today. Weak, dehydrated, my nose been extremely dry n bleeding from the second hand cigarette smoke here in this house. I've been drinking Pedialyte. But I still don't have no energy. I was trying to stay as long as I could or at least till the 11th to make it 16days of helping my friend. I re covered my kitchen chairs a couple of times when the children were young. I used a fabric which had a wipeable โglazeโ on it. It worked really well because it is soft like fabric so bends round the corners to give a good finish but is wipe clean so stays like new for a long time. It comes in all sorts of patterns and colours, I only changed mine when I got fed up of the colour. Wood looks nice but isnโt very comfortable for long, padded seating is much better for that. Look forward to seeing the end result ๐ Red really suits you btw, makes you glow ๐

You can have it covered with cloth and then they make a clear plastic that you put over that. Both are put in at the same time. My MIL told us to do that when our kids were little on our table and chairs when I was having them recovered. It worked! They still look new. They sell it at Hobby Lobby.
The wood would be better easy to clean and you can make a long cushion for it.
