My grandfather's best friend was Korean. They met as soldiers and he came to the US when I was 4. I'm 50 and although they both have passed, Mr. Kims love for ARMY stew has stayed with me in my heart and on my table at least once a week. Every time I Cook it I can hear him say 'ahh Chelle, add what you have and be warm'. I miss them dearly.

I've never had this dish (tho I really want too) but I love the story behind it and how people still love to have it to this day, and the fact that there is no set way on making it, it just take what you have and put it in the dish and just eat and be warm and full,

I feel it odd that I've never heard of this. I guess america just really doesn't want us to know crappy things we've done to other countries.

Also why did the Korean government restrict American food during a food shortage?
