I make mines with smoked turkey instead of ham hocks or neck bones and I include white potatoes. Anyone who's ever tasted them said they love it.

I just made this. Flavors are bomb! A few things happened though, my veggies got way too soft, and there was so much to add to the pot, I had to pull the big one I use for brewing beer in! Next timeI'm gonna make this in a crock pot like I do my gumbo. Everything goes in at once, make the rue separately then pour it in.

AB!! I did it. Cooked up some. I'm like MrsTay, These can be a main course…if only there were potatoes. SO, I went out to the garden and graveled out some baby reds about marble size and threw them in. No lie, the best greens I've ever cooked. We're having our Memorial Day dinner.
