I am a LONG term vegan, and have done various versions of veganism since 1994. I did the best on a mostly raw vegan diet. I say "mostly raw" because I ate roasted nut/seed butters and didn't give up coffee. My blood sugar was STABLE (for once), I felt good, my life-long IBS-C was cured, my amenorrhea was cured, I could eat MORE calories and keep my weight stable, etc. Now, I like being thin, so I don't want to gain weight (despite the fact others felt I needed to). I have severe chronic pain now (due to many spine/neck injuries) and keep feeling I need to return to my raw path. It's just hard here in Santa Fe where it gets COLD…like REALLY cold in the winter. That being whined about, I'm not a wuss. I can do this. Cooked starches make my blood sugar freak out. AND, I don't do well on TONS of fruit with no fat. That makes my blood sugar freak out too. I do best on a moderate fat/protein/carbs raw vegan diet.

Total Energy Expenditure doesn't take into account the fact that it takes much fewer calories to digest and assimilate raw juicy fruit than, say, olive oil or rice or dried dates. Juicy raw fruit calories count effectively as double.

You look very healthy but it is true that a lot of raw foodists – especially frugivores often look unhealthy and undernourished – and that despite them claiming to eat a minimum of 2500 calories. I read somewhere that there is something like a fructose metabolization limit which could explain why frugivores often (not always) look underweight deapite their calorie surplus. I indeed think that including nuts, seeds and greens is critical.

He must be giving hard meat-eaters the hardest of times: 'How on earth can a vegan- and a raw one at that- look so strong & powerful ? " 😄

It looks simple- Shane has already removed his 'mucoid plaque' the microbial biofilm made of the gut-attached, intertwined fungus, yeast, bacteria, mucus etc that prevents the body from absorbing the incoming nutrients.

All heavy-meat eaters who remove their gut plaque thrive, too- yet most probably for a limited time because (due to their dietary choice, I believe) they seem to age way too quickly.

Still, apart from the biofilm removal, there are other important factors like – body constitution ( Shane is Kapha- Pitta dosha, naturally strong) & genetics, incl. inherited ( and not simply acquired) disease pre-dispositions & conditions; mental determination; quality raw food availability & affordability…

There are also people in the raw vegan community who go without a rapid cleanse and still do fine over time. It all depends on so many things, that you have to know yourself and your own condition really, really well.

But what Shane did- and does- is remarkable.

The guy in this video, Shane, is 6’2”, 200lbs and 50 years old in a few months!!! HE LOOKS INCREDIBLE!! 😍🤩Omg. I thought he was going to say he’s in his late 30s. For a white man, he’s probably the youngest looking I’ve ever seen. Seriously. I’m so shocked, it’s amazing. Def getting his diet plan for myself and husband. It will be interesting to see how it differs or is similar to a Dr. Sebi’s diet plan

That is true, you are right about people who are sick already coming to a raw food lifestyle to help to heal them. I think, whatever works for people is great! <3 I will always like to support someone doing what is best for them and following the Light <3 Thank you for your videos, Shane, it is good that people know there are other diet/eating/lifestyles that may possibly help and work well for them 🙂 Peace for all <3
