I wonder if someone recognises the stainless steel pot he uses to cook the congee. I completely fell in love with it. I believe it's a sauteuse (a sauté pan), but can't tell which brand or model it may be…

There is a link to a "saucepan" in the text below the video, but it doesn't take me to the one I see in the video (perhaps because it takes me to Amazon Spain?).

Just made it and it was exactly what I needed on a cold day. I grated ginger in with the porridge aromatics and substituted brown sugar and oyster sauce for the hoisin sauce. Oh, and a healthy pinch of MSG in both while they were cooking

    All that = 🔥

    Thank you for the recipe!

In persia we add milk to the rice once its reduced, cook it for another minute or two. Then either add salt or sugar, its usually eaten when you have the flu and eating other dishes could make you throw up.

Just wanted to ask quick about your you tube video for making the delicious hoagie rolls. The hoagie recipe video was posted awhile back so was not sure if still checking the comment section on that. I followed the hoagie recipe exactly. I used Fleischman's instant yeast and warmed the milk to a temp between 105 and 110 degrees F. I mixed in the 6 grams of instant yeast and 8 grams of DMP. But for some reason the yeast did not want to activate all the way. The Hoagie Rolls still turned out really good though. Should I heat the milk to a slightly higher temp? Could I have over stirred after adding the instant yeast and DMP into the warmed milk? Perhaps was bad yeast? I had just purchased the Fleischman's instant yeast the day prior from Walmart. No defects appeared on the packing. I could try another grocery and different brand name for the yeast. Just wanted to ask your thoughts and suggestions on this. Thanks.

My family does this with Thanksgiving leftovers every year. Toss the whole turkey carcass into a big pot, add rice, stock or water, and let it do its thing. Finish with cilantro and a dash of soy sauce.

This somehow reminds me of a dish we have in germany called "Milchreis" which is just "milk rice". You boil rice in milk for a really long time and then serve it as dessert (or sometimes just as is as a meal) with apple jam and cinnamon+sugar

Hey man, you used to always say "let's break it down" and it was cool and your own thing.
Now you're doing a lot more "with that being said", and that's definitely someone else's well-known intro phrase.
Stick with you, dude. You're good!

i tried using a potato masher for the ground meat, it doesn't really work that well for me. I think I gotta have a masher like yours, cuz mine is a plastic sheet with holes in it
