I have the meater plus and it’s terrible. The software is great, and the thermometer works well, but the connection is worthless and constantly has problems. I looked at the meter block and the price is ridiculous. You can get an ink bird for thermometer set up for well under $100 and it does just fine. The meater app is really slick and seeing when it will be done is nice even though it takes forever for it to figure that out. But it’s not enough to justify the price difference.

Thank you for this video, it’s answered all but one of my questions. The last question is, if I buy the meater block with the two probes, can I buy the other two probes at a later date??

Hey there. I hear you talk about ios devices, but I see there's an android app as well. Was that not the case when you made this video, is the android app not as good or did you misspeak when you made the video?

Thanks for some great videos, btw!

I was in the fence about getting the block. But your video is on point. I went with the block and 4 probes. Thank you for a very informative video! Also, I thought the same thing you thought about getting one probe plus. I would have not known that if I had not seen your video.

Thanks for this video. I bought a Meater Block that came with an additional Meater+. I figured I’d start with the Plus just to get a feel for it. Like you, I had no clue they were different when I opened it up tonight. Thanks for clarifying for me. I’m so glad I purchased the Block.

Great Review. I have purchased the meater block because of your review. I live in Ontario and I was wondering how you setup your block if it’s raining or in the winter(-20c). From the specifications the block needs to be 3 meters from the probe. I am wondering if the block can communicate with the probes from inside your house

I have both the block and plus. My question is about protecting the probe. What should I do if I can not insert the probe to the safety line. (Steaks like Fillets are thick but not wide. The owners manual says it could damage the sensor if not inserted properly).

I have a few Alexa devices in my house, shop, yard and garage. I wonder if I can connect the block to Alexa device and connect to the cloud? It would easy enough to use an old phone or something.

Headed out the door to buy one

I don’t know if I can force myself to buy the box because the meter plus was the biggest piece of junk I’ve ever seen, the idea of to have a cooking probe that you can monitor is what it’s all about but you couldn’t get more than 6 feet away from the cooker but the block is supposed to have Wi-Fi I just don’t know if I can trust a company that sells junk and then says here , buy this its better. Specially if it’s bad weather you Shouldn’t have to put a device outside which is totally ridiculous to make it work, and then I like it how they say if you buy the box your old probes will not work with it. That to me is just saying the company is money hungry and worthless

Cool idea but I don't need very much range. When I grill that's all i do other than make sides and get beers from the fridge. I take my cooking seriously, I genuinely look forwards to my grill time. No chores, no walks, but I will perhaps partake in a game of badminton, horseshoes, or world championship yard crochet loser has to gopher the beer in the fridge.

This is an awesome video, if you see this maybe you'll know the answer. The 2 probe block's on sale right now, and it says the instructions that come with tell you how to order 2 more probes if you want. They make no mention of $$$ and Googling this I couldn't find anything about their price. Do you know what they cost by chance? I don't want to spend $299 right now. But I also don't want to want to buy the 2 probe block and want 2 probes down the road only to find out they cost some crazy amount.
