    Really it's not that weird if you think about it, because it's all still sweet things. In Taiwan, pearls and other types tapioca, taro or sweet potato balls, grass jelly, various sweet beans or grains or peanuts, etc., are all really typical shave ice toppings, or sweet dessert soup items that can be eaten cold, warm, or hot. I would definitely find it weird if it's all of these stuff, but you're cooking meat in it like regular hot pot.
