Shopping was crazy. We had to stock up for our 3 yr old birthday in a few weeks. Unfortunately, we still have quite a bit of stuff in the freezer, so I couldn't do a meat haul. But I did get some roasts ($3.88 /lb. was too good to pass up for arm roast). I decided to just freeze the smaller one, and the larger one I sliced into cubes so we can do a beef stew one night for dinner. I probably won't make it all into a stew, becasue it's quite a bit of meat. Tonight I'm going to cook them into steak bites with potatoes, because that sounds yummy. If we have any leftovers, I can warm up tomorrow with soem scrambled eggs. We stocked up on water and the kids got soem extra apples. Grapes were $1.48/lb, so we bought some. It's sad when that used to be a high price, but we're snagging it now becasue, well it's the cheapest you can find and the kids need some variety. I'm glad you found bacon on sale, it's hard to fin up in these SE Kansas streets, haha. I think today I really need to go through and see what we've got. I have a lot of frozen chicken, and most of it is prepped into freezer meals. We figured out a few weeks ago that everyone likes BBQ thighs baked in the oven. Hubs is NOT a BBQ fan, but he liked the crispy skin. So I made soem of those for the freezer last night. I'm also googling lost of different recipes for things to do with chickens that can be frozen, so we have a Cantonese chicken and a lemon and garlic chicken we can try one night. So we'll see how all that works out.

Yeah things are getting high. Sure seems like way more than the 7% inflation they were talking about. My favorite laundry pods were $8.92 for a 97 count in November. They are $14.47 now. Like why???

I live in Atlantic Canada, last evening a block of butter (not the good stuff, just plain ol' butter) was $8.39 ! Christmas time it was $4.99. A small bag of clementines $7.99. Needless to say I did not purchase either of those items but it is amazing how quickly prices can climb….my paycheck has stayed exactly the same though 😒

My daughter and I laughed when you said "veggie up". My daughter said that should be a brand name. 😆 I am doing a major grocery run next week. I hate to see what the total will be. I am going to stock up on coffee also.
