I am oil free due to concerns for my arteries and my weight. Interestingly, I used to love cheese before going plant based. Now I can’t even remember what it tastes like lol. I do appreciate that this show hosts a variety of points of view without judgement.

Just a thought.. In Ayurveda, it is advised to shift your practices with the seasons because of the shift of Dosha qualities (Vata Pitta Kapha)… So in the summertime, when Pitta is dominant, and/or if anyone "runs hot", it is advised to do abyangha with a Pitta oil (not sesame).

I notice looking at ingredients that organic coconut oil is used in many of these plant based cheeses.
Also surprised olive oil was used to cook the potato recipe.
Maybe these are meant for special occasions, so oils added are negligible.
Bottom line, a lot more healthy than dairy cheeses for sure!

She is such a yoga Goddess. Julie Piatt is a super star in the wfpe community. I love her comment about isms. I just think she is super cool. I appreciate her view of the future. And I totally get it when she basically said, and even giggled as she is said it, women are useless after child-bearing years. This was the cry from my former, male GYN, who had the audacity to say to me I didn't need my body parts as part of his justification for insisting, and I do mean insisting, I get a hysterectomy. He cleverly left out the part that he was leaving the hospital team in one month and would be opening his private practice. I found out and told him I didn't wish to be the down payment on his first year's lease for his new practice. I am not saying all allopathic doctors are like this but many are, including their patriarchal attitudes. I fired him and I fired my male GI. Both, made the mistake of playing Big Daddy with me. My very favorite Doc, is male. He isn't into patriarchy. Show us a little respect as we get older, much the same way you would like to receive it. Fabulous interview, Chef AJ! Thank you!🙏💟

I have lots of “isms” that I like. Vegetarianism, veganism, environmentalism to name a few.

Dogma and lack of flexibility and forgiveness are not great, but it’s the science that we should listen to in order to steer us away from health and planetary crises. The problem is some experts don’t preach what the science tells us i.e. go vegan, stop burning fossil fuels asap, etc.

Vegan cheese has a great addition to have once in a while. Dairy is not what we crave, it’s a cheesy flavour and texture! Who needs the animal products? No one 🙂
