"one finds a solution in the state of helplessness" actually made me cry.
Mustafa cut me to the heart with his wise observation!
It is the story of so much of African American history.

I teach my little children at home, and as we learn about painful parts of history, I tell them,
You did not do this, you were not born yet and you were not there.
But we need to know, so we can understand when things are still wrong, where a problem came from and why we must help fix it!

Slaves were sold by their own tribes to the settlers of America. . . Meaning the slaves brought to America were originally slaves for the tribal people, or usually the extremely poor ones. It was to bring some form of wealth to the tribe, as a sort of "pruning a tree", to rid it of any wasteful growths. Just gonna set that part straight.

It still doesnt make it right that the settlers bought people (trafficed humans), at the same time the tribes were just as much at fault for allowing members to be sold off regardless of social ranking.

haha growing up in a black community, I know for sure every black person in this channel is like…" THAT AIN'T CORNBREAD!"

Even the color is way off.

ive eaten authetic soul food….that cornbread is so badly cooked it is not even recognizable. The other foods are not even soul food. They are Southern US fast food and dessert. You missed chitterlings, smoked turkey wings and chollard greens and rice with refried beans. total fail…sorry.

I adore all of them so much! I was surprised that Mustafa liked the cobbler. Who else wanted them to have some collard greens and pinto beans with their cornbread?🙋🏽‍♀️

I'm Black American…I can tell this food doesn't taste proper at all. It wasn't prepared correctly. But I appreciate the openness to experiencing a different culture from the guests.
