Hi Stacey I love watching your in-laws videos which are extremely helpful. I am going to try this recipe but I am not sure what a proper pudding mold is. I have a tin mold that I use to make figgy puddings at Christmas time. It is about 5 inches high. Do you think I can use that mold?? And did you make the cream that goes on top of the pudding? Thanks much. Cheers from America
Hi Stacy that sponge next time do double the mixture and then you'll have a nice thick pudding try jam next time that was my favorite sponge pud mum was a dab hand at making sponge steam puds she would steam one for about 2 hours in a steamer over a pan of water oh one time mum put the grease wrapper from a block of margarine on top of her pud and then she put greaseproof paper on the top and then put a string to tie the paper down so the steam wouldn't get into the cake mix .well the time was up for the pudding to be done so mum got it out the water and started undoing the string and to take the papers off well she got the outer paper off and then the margarine paper well on top of the cake was the name of the margarine the writing had come off in cooking. Well we ate the jam sponge and custard with kut anyone being ill from the ink on the margarine paper love fran xxx
