You're so right my husband's from Hawaii we learned how to cook it in the instapot because we eat rice every single day. yes you need to change the ring or do what I did. I bought the small instant pot just for my rice
I bought my Instant Pot Duo Nova on Facebook Marketplace, it was a great deal! The previous owner had never used it, the power cord and everything else it came with were still in factory packaging, just no box. I've been pretty sure it came with everything, up until now lol. I guess I didn't get that little cup. Can anyone please tell me the measurements of that cup? Maybe I have a measuring cup I could use in it's place… 🤔
Been making rice in my instant pot for years. Never do any of those and my rice has always been good. I don't have a rice ring, I do a 1 to 1 ratio and I rinse my rice one time.
I’ve never used the swirl method but have always used my hands to wash the rice in water before draining the water. Also it helps to soak the rice for about half hour before cooking. It shortens cooking time and makes it more fluffier and flavorful.
Rice Lovers you don't need multiple rings just soak the one you have in dish detergent as needed, purchase a strainer basket that will fit your instant pot doubles as a steamer/strainer. I have the 8-quart basket works like a charm for the 8-quart ultra-instant pot.
looks to sticky for basmati, I can cook on the stove 2 cups of basmati rice in about 8 to 10 minutes. rinse rice 3 or 4 times let it sit in clean water for 5 to 10 minutes, add a little salt cook on medium heat about 10 minutes take off heat strain rice , put in large bowl and fluff, this will not come out sticky but fluffy.
its still sticky to the bottom 8:00

I like your newer rice video too, but I think I like this one better. (I am going to use your swirl rinse method which is on both videos.)
Why not pour your rice and water through a sieve? Then do the other water rinses.
Not all rice is meant to be rinsed, specifically those that have been fortified.
great, thorough instructions, thanks
I'm one of those people that's too lazy to rinse my rice. It's still comes out fine. This video was way too time consuming as well.

My man!!! These are the straight to the point . no bs vids I like.
Rice gets stuck to bottom of pan. It is easier to stir on stove top.
