This looks amazing! Would this work with gluten free flour? Thanks so much for all the awesome recipes!!
There definitely is a Heaven, Chef Jana! God bless you 🙂
For the custard: don't use grain based milk (i.e. oat, rice). Those naturally contain amylase, an enzyme that breaks down starches to sugar. If you use for example oat milk, your custard will thicken nicely and while it cools, the amylase will eat up the cornstarch and it will turn super runny again. Use soy, pea or nutmilks for thiccc custards ✌
Looks delicious! Think I would prefer cold, thick, sour yogurt (plant-based of course) instead of the vanilla custard.
Yum, delicious recipe. Thank you ❣️ 😊🥰😊
Fantastic idea using the crumble on the base… Yum! 😋
Stewed Apricots makes a lovely crumble too. Apple crumble is lovely with an added addition of sultanas for something a little sweeter. 🙂😋
10/10 for the baking mits alone
Thank you Chef Jana! This is perfect for Pi Day!! (3.14 or March 14). Do you have a cookbook that I can buy?
👏🏽 bravo, lovely!
Spring is around the corner in rhubarb will be up well another 3 months. I wonder if I could cut up some rhubarb with the apples and put it in
😳😍😍😍🤗🤗🤗💛
So delicious to look at, I almost licked the screen.
Sneaking some extra nutrition in our dessert… what next? 😋
Crumble on the bottom first? Excellent idea! Sauce looks fabulous also. Thank you!!
I've just been given a bag of pears and apples! Guess what I'll be doing! I think I'll mix them up, pear and apple crumble! Thank you Jana, desert sorted for tonight!
I love 😍 Apple crumble but I also make my own Rhubarb crumble with the Rhubarb I grow myself ( it's too expensive to buy Rhubarb in stores). Love 🥰the recipe & video & love 💕 Chef Jana.
Very yummy 😋
Easy and smooth!! Can you also make the 🍮 custard using just egg?
THAT'S REAL SWELL, YOU COULD BECOME THE JULIA CHILDS OF VEGAN COOKING
1. I LIKE TO KEEP IT ALL VERY SIMPLE, BUT NUTRITIOUS……
2. I'VE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEGAN DIET, AS I'VE BEEN LEARNING ALONG THE WAY FOR DECADES AND AM IN SUPER DUPER HEALTH, ETC.
3. I'D PASS ON THE BANNANA BIO MASS AND JUST USE A LITTLE BANANA AS AN OCASSIONAL SUBSTITUTE FOR EGGS, BUTTER OR WHATEVER….
4. I WATCHED A LOT OF COMPLETE AND UTTER MORONS OBSCESS AND FAIL ON THEIR VEGAN EFFORTS WITH CRAZY RAW FAD DIETS, 50 BANNANAS A DAY, 50 SUPPLEMENTS A DAY AND SO ON……BLITHERING IDIOT MORONS…..
5. FOR ME, EATING IS AS IMPORTANT AS NON EATING, MEANING SLEEEP AS WELL AS A BALANCE OF ACTIVITY……IT'S ALL ABOUT BALANCE AND PRODUCTIVITY IN THE END…WHAT DID YOU TAKE AND WHAT DID YOU MAKE AND LEAVE BEHIND…
Oh this looks so good! I will definitely be trying it. My mother used to make a similar sauce to serve with pound cake that was still edible, but getting a little old. As always, best of luck to you Jana!!
There is no link for the green banana biomass??
Yummy 😋
DELICIOUS
Love tha background music hun. It's nice as the pie and you😉
Oe yum .. have you ever tried using muesli as the crumble or base for the filling? I make a sort of 'instant apple pie' myself: muesli (with nuts and fruit pieces) a handful of raisins, cinnamon/allspice, squeeze an orange for moisture over the top, mix together and then microwave the whole thing for from 2-5 minutes (depending upon how cooked you want the apples to get). You can sweeten it with maple syrup or put it under the broiler to crust up the top a bit. P.S. I have tried it with pineapple and peaches and it tasted alright .. but I must like weird stuff .. dunno. 🌹
What’s your opinion of a substitute for the biomass? Applesauce?
Since I read about GBB I cannot find green bananas anywhere. Slightly green at top stem, but not green. So weird.
Just in time for Pi day!
Think I’ll add 3/4 cup of raisins
You are taking me back to my childhood
a British childhood
where we had "bread sauce" usually on fish
(my pre-vegan days)
and apple or blackberry crumble and custard
I use Bird's Custard Powder to make the custard
and add soya milk and it is vegan.
My parents tried it years ago and preferred the taste
to cow's milk custard so my mother makes it
with soya milk still and moved to soya milk for other things too.
Looks very yummy !!Cant wait to try it!❤️
The third time is a charm, they say! I have tried to upload this video twice before, both videos had sound errors, so finally here is the Vegan Apple Crumble Pie video! Yaaayyy!!! Learning from our mistakes, won't we? 💪😘😅
Take three? Still looks delicious.
(It seems like this has been uploaded twice before)
