Just got back from my latest A1C check-up: 6.1. I had been fighting an A1C of 8.8 for years before discovering your channel. You literally have given me my health back. When I discovered your channel last year, I was at a point in my life where I had given up my faith in God, and stopped reading the bible or praying, but I told myself that if your health advice worked, I'd thank the Lord. Well today it happened, I just thanked the Lord for your channel!

Having a glucose meter in every household should be no different than having a thermometer, a blood pressure cuff and a pulse oxygen meter. These measure numbers we need to know in special circumstances, or on a regular and continual basis. Insurance should pay for them. Imagine how much money this would save in preventive medicine alone! Edit: Add a splash of heavy whipping cream to your unsweetened almond milk for a good milk substitute.

Hi Dennis, this is what diabetics are up against here in Australia. This is an extract from the Australian Diabetes Assoc. diet guidelines " Eat plenty of cereals (including breads, rice, pasta and noodles), preferably wholegrain" These are the guidelines published by diabetes "Experts" It makes you want to take them by the neck and shake some sense into them.

I'm not diabetic, but have hoshimotoes causing insulin resistance in tge firm of hypoglycemia. I've never been a big milk drinker despite liking it because I have bad seasonal allergies that cause nasty upper respiratory infections like bronchitis. That coupled with hereditary asthma, breathing is something I won't risk. Milk dairy has a chemical compound causing note mucus production, so I avoided drinking milk much most of my life. I've since my late teens had bone density probs because of a side effect of the birth control shot depo prevera. Plus, while pregnant with my son, he stole calcium from my bones. So I had to up my calcium/milk based dairy intake. With my blood sugar probs, my solution was things like cheese, keifer, and Belgian yogurt. I currently make my own yogurt that's 1:1 ratio heavy cream to either whole or 2% milk. I ferment it for at least 12 hrs. The cultures help my hoshis, limit the carbs, and help regulate my blood sugar. It works great in a post work-out smoothie with half a serv of sugar free choc protuen powder and berries. I might add a bit of plain milk to thin it out a bit, but also add things like cottage cheese too.

Hi Dennis thanks for your channel. The introduction of your video reminds me of a woman I ran into at a health food store a few years ago. She was looking for supplements to help bring her blood sugar down. I couldn't advise her on on the supplements but I did refer her to your Beat Diabetes channel. Using her phone I found your channel and subscribed her. I never got her name but often wonder what happened to her. I pray that she watched your videos and was able to make a transformation in a life. Thanks ago for all your videos.

Carbs add up quickly and there are food that have just a few carbs but when you eat a bit of this and then a bit of that, it all adds up. That is what dairy does.

Interesting comments. I became a LADA diabetic 3.5 years ago. I had A1c of 10.8. I went low carb and gave up rice, bread, pasta, sugar, and most processed foods immediately. My A1c dropped to 5.5 within a few months. I told the Dr. that a CGM would be helpful and he said insurance would not provide one since my diabetes was 'mild'. My biggest struggle now is to gain weight while maintaining blood sugar levels.

In the UK no NHS doctor will ever used any Doctor on YouTube as a reference even if it save your life, having said that I reversed my diabetes using resources from the YouTube that shocked my GP. People like Denis supported me immensely on my brutal battle to put the monster in remission.

Kidney function seems to be an issue with me, not just blood sugars. If I eat meat I'm up all night, drinking and peeing every 2 hours. If I eat a vegetarian dinner I sleep 5 hours+ (which is unheard of for a 66yr old like me). I'm thinking the animal protein puts a strain on my kidneys but it's really annoying as your way of eating, Dennis, would suit me. Plus I'm reluctant to eat all the pulses that a vegetarian would eat for dinner. So far, I've had mushroom, cauliflower and spinach soup with cream which is delicious but there must be other low carb vegetarian suppers out there? Any thoughts anyone?

It's not just the carbohydrates but the proteins in dairy as well.

Dairy proteins are very insulinogenic. One of the purposes of insulin is to stimulate growth by increasing the production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). Infant mammals need dairy because they are rapidly growing.

But when you are no longer growing, the excess insulin becomes problematic unless you are bulking.
