For those that don’t have onion goggles – and I did not know that was a thing! Hehe – onion chemicals are drawn to the closest moisture (which is usually our eyes) so if you put a wet paper towel or sponge close to onions when you’re chopping them the chemicals get drawn to it instead.

Hey there, French here and a big fan of lentil salads obviously, however i usually take it simple (no added cooking, just raw shallots for ex). And oh my god, taking the extra time to cook the shallots takes it to another level + the pepper in the water is a genius idea! I used beluga/black lentils and undercooked them a bit so they stayed firm, and i think this is by far the best lentil salads i ever had. And trust me, i had a lot! So thank you <3

Thank you! This recipe is not only delicious but comes with some amazing health benefits! Personally I love the fact that lentils help us in getting optimal sleep, which is thanks to the good levels of folic acid in lentils! Another amazing benefit is that folic acid helps in counteracting "telomere dysfunction" which means that lentils are "anti-ageing" hero!

Great recipe that I will try for sure! FYI: calling a waiter garΓ§on (en: boy) is an outdated french clichΓ© and also considered rude. But I am sure you didn't use it on purpose πŸ™‚

I’m looking forward to making this; looks so yummy and fresh. I Do have to interrupt to say that your adorable shirt steels the show, sorry lentils, you can’t compete with a perfectly cute top. πŸ˜‰

I made this for the first time a few months ago and loved it. This might sound odd but it's even nice without adding the herbs at the end. Really, try it without before adding the herbs, it's delicious.

Turkish red pepper is Aleppo pepper also called Armenian pepper. You can get it at any middle eastern shop. I never added salt to my lentils whilst cooking as I was told it will make the outer skin "too crunchy". I salt it after. So I will actually try to make it the way you do to see if there is a difference in texture.

The random grain of wheat is why I don't eat lentils, sadly. I've heard even the "gluten free" brands have major contamination risk. It's too bad bc I've seen some amazing recipes (like this one)

Love your channel, your cuisine is so inspiring, never bland! I tried many of your recipes, always a success. I do cook lentils frequently, they're so good. I often use black lentils for salads, because they hold their shape well.
Your hummus recipe is excellent, and viewing your video, I understood that there is tahini…and tahini. A non bitter tahini makes all the difference in the taste.
Thanks for the good work. From a 66 years old vegan Canadian.
