Finally white people tried Black Stone Flower lol. Its a kind of Fungi which is edible and goes very well with any red meat cooking. And it is not just used in South India, it is a delicacy in North Indian goat cooking.

I know we already repped Japan here with the yam noodles (which are a classic for hotpots, perfect for picking up broth flavor when it would be wasted otherwise), but one of the most transcendent experiences I ever had was in Kyoto having simple, freshly fried tempura with matcha salt on top and no dipping sauce in sight. Does that count as another ingredient? The key is that it has to be FRESHLY fried, light and fluffy with a crunch–you can't really take time to adjust cameras or keep on deck for a little. It's gotta be fresh from strainer to table, salt right before you bite.

I'm from Puerto Rico and know that Sorted was there a couple years ago, it's a shame that they didnt get to try Breadfruit! It's application can vary from simply boiling it like a potato, or even mashing and frying it (my favorite way to eat them) like mashed fried plantain.

Hey Guys! I have been following you guys for some time now! Here is an idea for you: a series (or episode) around kitchen gadgets. I have been thinking where you are given a gadget and have to use it creatively. I would be curious to see a chef and normals take on how they could really utilize a specific gadget!

You should try Buah Keluak nuts. They are traditionally used in a peranakan dish called Ayam Buah Keluak. They are interesting, because they are poisonous when they are not fermented.
I would describe them tasting somewhat chocolaty and bitter (I personally don't like them 😅).
They would definitely make for an interesting ingredient in the next episode.
