    So if using jam/packets no need for the heat. The heat is only needed for rehydrating the the freeze dried strawberries. Seems like a dumb question I am sure. Forgive I am new.

    Will definitely be trying this sometime soon!

    Went over to Ancient Lakes last weekend and tried the steakhouse bowl, and the Jamaican jerk Chicken w/coconut, mango, rice and beans. They were both up there in my favorites that I've brought backpacking. Will be trying some of the suggestions to the steakhouse bowl next time.

    Ugh I can't eat junk food on the trail, even if I am out all day. It KILLS my energy levels and I just feel like crap! but maybe I could sub something for the Twinkies! ha
