Love cast iron cooking. Stay warm, Hopefully you don't have to shovel the driveway. I hated that when I lived in Washington on the Canadian border. Waking up at 3am to find out if I am staying home or waiting for the bus in a blanket for school sucks. Hopefully the kids get back to school so it doesn't take away their summer making up snow days.

Those steaks and potatoes looked 🔥🔥🔥! And I feel ya on doing the episode in the house with those temps. Shoot it wasn’t nearly that cold here in my neck of the woods. My oldest son made 2 tri tips in the oven last night for tri tip sandwiches.. while we watched my 9er game. Would’ve been better smoked on the pit, but was pretty dam good.
Not sure if you have ever done a tri tip episode, maybe that could be 1 in the hopper for a future cook 🤔. Anywho, Cheers y’all.. stay warm and safe 👊🏼😎🤙🏼

Cast iron on a glass top, ohhhh. The cast iron will build more heat than the glass can handle, ask me how I know, and it was an expensive lesson. Factory rep said no, no to cast iron on the glass top. Now, I do love the cast iron, works great in the oven and on the grill or griddle.

Looks awesome Neal! I cooked two prime New York strips last night in the pit boss and they were amazing. Man don't you hate it when you think you have sour cream on deck and then you realize you don't? Last night I was making egg fried rice to go along with the steak and could have sworn I had sesame oil for a finishing sauce and nope, negatory. Totally feel you on that!

Cast iron seared then oven finished use to be my favorite way to cook steak indoors but since I got the cosori indoor grill that is now my first choice. Just had a steak tonight with baked potato.

My wife demands steaks be done on the grill! We had pizza today. 😆 Too dang cold out there! I do as little as possible to my steaks, especially the more expensiver ones. Salt & a little pepper (maybe a little Lawry's) to sit for a few hours and smacked down on a searing hot grill. Medium for her and medium rare for me! Taters looked awesome!

I also prefer charcoal for steaks, and many other things. The charcoal adds an awesome flavor. Look up a Flip Flop Grill. They do an amazing job on chicken. I did grow up with pan seared steaks, so I could smell the steaks you were cooking. I still cook a good many in cast iron. The potatoes looked great.

Those potatoes look awesome. You got us hooked on the butter and W sauce when we cook a steak! Stay warm!! I put a chuck roast on the smoker this morning for 2 hours to get the smoke flavor then into the crock pot! The smoker read 21 degrees when I turned it on. But it's supposed to be about 80 here later in the week.

Hey Neal, interesting to see you using cast iron skillet on electric cooktop. I've always been told that you could not do that. Not really sure why other than the weight of the pan and the possibility of breaking (cracking) the cooktop. Any comment????

Middle TN has the same weather as y'all. I'm looking forward to warmer temps this next week! I did enjoy watching UT basketball spank Alabama!

Same situation here in west TN and northwest MS. I smoked some chicken thighs on the grill last weekend, but haven’t been able to do anything outside since then. Had to go to 3 stores yesterday just to get everything we need for the week! Never have I wished for winter rain as I have for this coming week, to wash all this mess out of here!
