    Do most of your athletes want to understand all of the workouts and what they are targeting, or do you have any that are just "I don't care, this workout will make me faster? ok." I am the nerdy former but the wife is far opposite end, literally could not care less about what energy system the training plan is targeting on any given day just wants to get it done and get stronger

    I lived and raced in the Philippines, and I think Ecuador is similar in terms of water potability. Think about things like drinks with ice cubes, brushing your teeth and such. Better to have a warm coke, than coke over dirty ice. I make all my ice from bottled water when I'm over their, or just freeze the bottle, 3/4 full.
    Watch Hand ups of water from unknown sources during the race. You don't want accelerated digestion.
