You forgot the brown sugar over the pineapple. In a crockpot you might have to cook the butter and pineapple in a saucepan together to get it caramelizing first and then adding it with the pineapple.

I had a playlist "Phyllis Stokes' recipes" and I used that playlist often (still do) the first recipe of yours I added I changed the name to "Phyllis & The Colonel". And I find we (husband & I) are enjoying your recipes as much as your mother's recipes. Good job Colonel! 👨‍✈️👍

Hehe, that poor whisk almost lost its head trying to mix the very dry ingredients – but in the end it looks delish! Agree with Montana, gotta give this a try in Ms Phyllis' honor.

Looks super yummy! I'm like others on here, I use the pineapple juice instead of water & add water if need be to make a cup, I also do butter, brown sugar on the bottom then add pineapples & cherries. Great to see you…stay safe & see you soon!!

Now that looks amazing! I use fresh pineapple,(I believe your mom used canned as well). I use brown sugar and butter on the bottom, cherries in the middle. I make the cake from an old Betty Crocker cook book. The fresh pineapple just rocks it. Apples are starting to come into Ohio. I am going to try this with apples and cinnamon, maybe raisins in the middle of the apple. You inspire me😊👍🎂 Your mom made everything look so eye appealing and delicious. You do too!👏👏

Colonel, one thing on cake mixes…substitute unsweetened applesauce for the oil…you won't taste any difference, but cake is moist & fluffy & no oil! I'm making this one, keep the crockpot recipes coming, please!
