I have found and follow lovely Korean, Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Peruvian and Thai cooking recipe channels… But as someone who lives in Africa I always wanted to find an African cooking channel with well produced videos and FINALLY I've found one. I'm so happy. I found your channel two days ago.

I must say that a lot of your East African recipes are similar to some Xhosa dishes. It's lovely to see how there is that shared connection across Africa.

I speak isiXhosa and so when I heard "Welcome to Jikoni Magic Meza" I first thought maybe Meza was the same as the Xhosa "umeza" which is one of three Xhosa words for "neighbour." I then googled it and saw it means "table" in kiSwahili. Haha. You're teaching me some kiSwahili🤣 Now, obviously, I realise it's "Welcome to Jikoni Magic's meza" as in "Welcome to Jikoni Magic's table."

Also, as someone who studies isiXhosa at university and helps teach first years, I love to see that you also have the kiSwahili videos up. I love to see Africa embracing being African as much as we can. The colonial languages need to be replaced in importance by African languages, even if we still use the colonial ones for international purposes.

So from South Africa, I'd love to just say:
Ndiyabulela kakhulu, mfundisi-ntsapho. Thank you so much, teacher. Asante sana, mwalimu. (I hope I got the kiSwahili correct!)
