I have pulled a few things from my pantry to use this week because theyโ€™ve gotten pretty far past the expiration date. So a creative meal plan is in the works. Your pantry looks great. My stored salt always solidifies. I need to seek out a solution, or get prepared to grate my salt blocks. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Here is a helpful tip with the water/dranks and oils. My family uses the washing machine drain pans and snow boot trays to separate from the floor and protect the area in case of leakage. We also freeze our oils and place the bottles in a Ziploc bag for breakage protection.

Tamara youโ€™re an inspiration to us all!! Your prepper pantry is growing & Iโ€™m so glad that you bring us along! I only replace oil with applesauce when baking a cake – I learned that trick in cake decorating class many years ago!

Just fyi – mylar & O2 absorbers will not add any life to white sugar. White sugar is naturally good forever. You just need a ziploc baggie to keep the paper bag from leaking, and to keep it away from mice & moisture (I use a regular storage tub.) โ€ฆ I think brown sugar has too much moisture with the molasses mixed in to qualify as able to be safely stored with an O2 absorber. Also I think itโ€™s long term shelf life is only apx 5 years (not sure) – as opposed to molasses in a jar that is also good for ages. So I also just put the brown sugar plastic bags just as is in a clear plastic bin.

Tamera, your content is so helpful to me. I love your cooking style as you show how to use prepared food for cooking delicious family meals. These food stocks are so much easy to store and use. I've had the habit of shopping daily for fresh food for that day or the next day's meals. That's a habit I need to break, especially in these times. I've bought a dehydrator, mylar bags, vacuum sealer, Berkey… You know all the things one thinks they'll need to prepare. Wish you could buy time and energy! ๐Ÿ™„ I'm really looking forward to your next project on LT storage. May God bless you & yours. โœ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโ˜ฎ ๐Ÿฅฐ

Also we don't use canned food and we don't have many.vegetables we cook fresh or frozen and we don't use them as a side dish,we cook them as a meal.(green beans, peas, chickpeas, lentils)You have a beautiful pantry!!Kisses from Greece โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
