Loved your mom's chicKen & dumplings. You just made me hungry for that. I can't wait so I'm gonna do the quick way. I'm going to go buy a rotisserie lemon chicken from store, add it to organic chicken broth, add basil, carrots & Thyme like you, maybe some celery too, make the dough and voila that will be dinner tonite. ๐Ÿ˜‹ Thank you for continuing your mom's channel. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’Ÿ

I do drop biscuits… I add a stick of butter to my broth and chicken then make the dough then drop spoonfuls into the broth..a funny lil story .lwhen I got married my husbands family loved a lot of things I cooked but chicken and dumplings was a favorite..my mother n law was on some kind of meds one time for something I canโ€™t remember, anyway she came over to eat one night and she ate n ate chicken n dumplings…a bit later she had a spell and scared us to death..she had forgotten to take her meds and thatโ€™s what the problem was..I thought she had eaten tooo many dumplings..we laughed about it later and I said I can see the headlines now..daughter-in-law kills mothernlaw with chicken and dumplings hehe…we watch her now and donโ€™t let her eat tooo much!!..love the cookin with the colonel!!!.ldoes your wife cook a lot?i had a friend at ft Bragg that was from Thailand..she made the best beef dish and spring rolls..and a sauce to dip them in that isnโ€™t like anything Iโ€™ve had since.it was a red sauce..which I could remember the name of the beef dish.and what that sauce was.l.it was a fav of mine..

Made the chicken and dumplings tonight and my husband loved them! First time we have ever had this and it will be on a regular rotation for dinner at our house. Watching your Mom make her homemade biscuits gave me the courage to make that recipe. Now I am proficient in that, which made me decide to tackle the dumplings. Thanks for posting.

Colonel : Thatโ€™s baking powder, not bacon powder.
    Ben: Disappointing.
Colonel: Bacon powder, is that even a thing?
    Ben: It should be.

Hi Stephen and Ben! Allow me to introduce you to bacon biscuits. For one dozen biscuits, cook and crumble six slices bacon. Add the bacon last, just before rolling or dropping dough. They are excellent with scrambled eggs, to make little snack sandwiches, or with many soups (especially potato soup).

Bacon Bread: For 2 (8 x 4-inch) loaves Cook and crumble twelve slices bacon. Add with last addition of flour, just before kneading. BBLT anyone? Bacon bread, lettuce, and tomato. I usually add three slices cooked bacon to make this sandwich. Kathy Prettyman
