What you called a Tamali is called a pastel tamali is made from corn and a pastel is made from green plantain and sometimes yuca or rice. You should try them all.
I love lechon but Philippines lechon that you can taste herbs that stuffed inside,Like Tamarind Flowers And Leaves, garlic, onion, lemongrass,Leaks,and umaminess from Fish sauce and Dip that in the Sarsa or liver Sauce Fire 🔥😋♥️😍

Damn I wish there was Kripy Creme in Peru but instead Peru has Dunkin Donuts. I have not been to the U.S. in 5 years and Krispy Creme is the best of the best! Most likely Dominos was your best bet. Peru has Dominos Pizza and it is some of the best you will find except for Arequipa, Peru. Dominos is so much better in South America than in the United States!

I have been to PR at least 300 times. I lived on St. Thomas for 15 years. I have had lechon many many times. It is one of my favorite PR dishes. I also love pernil.
