I would recommend listening to β€˜the crime analyst’ and β€˜psychology in Seattle’ episodes on Bad Vegan. They provide much more context and psychological analysis about gaslighting and controlling and coercive behaviour. To understand Sarma’s actions, these are essential to grasp. The documentary was woefully inadequate at contextualising this and it has led to a wave of victim blaming as a result.

For a while I've been wishing so bad that vegan food in my town would actually be good! Makes me think of opening a small restaurant and my non vegan boyfriend loves the vegan and vegetarian food I make him and says thats real food not like the crap other restaurants make. One exception is a restaurant called Yardhouse where they have amazing vegan food but they aren't even a vegan restaurant.

I’m not sure when the last time you bought daiya cheese, but I know they have recently changed their recipe within the last 6 months maybe so that might be what it is. If restaurants had the different flavor before this, it was probably because it was more important to give them the updated recipe first than to roll it out in stores (also having to wait for the old recipe to be mostly sold out)

How did you get them to put that much cheese on it? Lol. The ones in my city never put much on and it never looks melted. I wish I had your Panago 😭
I never buy anything Daiya because it all has the chemical coconut taste to it. But you're so right, that places like Panago that use it seems totally fine.

I watched the documentary and I just wanted to say that I got the title of the show totally different so I was a little surprised about your reaction. I'm vegan too btw and I also think the show isn't worth watching. But I thought by naming the show Bad Vegan they wanted to put an emphasys on how the media exploited the fact that she is vegan to get more attention from the public. They actually talk about that for a few minutes. So i always understood it more like sarcasm or something. (Sorry I'm german and i have troubles explaining what I want to say here :D)

I agree with you Rose, about the loud engine sounds. I hate it so much!! The other thing I hate is people who idle their cars or motorcycles for so long without driving. I hate the loud sounds and smells from the engines.

Yeah she didn’t want anything to do with that pizza , she said she could pretty much only eat at chipotle at that hotel and when they busted in she was in the other room looking malnourished and mentally unwell and he was in the other room with all the chicken wing bones

I tried this 떑볢이 because I found it in a 편의점 here in Korea but I just found it so disappointing 😞 Hardly 25% of the pot was full and taste was just okay at best. But glad there's at least an option.

as someone who's from a country that got invaded by tens of thousands of "manipulated" and "brainwashed" dudes, I don't care how brainwashed they are, the responsibility is on them. Also on the ppl who manipulate them, but on them, too

When I saw it was 6 episodes I didn't think I wanted to waste my time lol. But I watched it before I watch your podcast. Once she found out he used a fake name & was arrested for the same kind of thing why didn't she end it. What hold did he have over her mentally?
