Yeah, what is that stuff on the black bean tin ones. Same, rinse. But then when I use pintos, I'll toss them all in (most times). I love instapot meals like this. I just made a variation of my mom's mac and cheese in mine. Just so fun to whip up quick little hand-free cooking!
