Thank you for sharing. I pulled all the items that’s closed to expiration date or has expired but still good and will be cooking them up.
I’ve learned to buy only things that we use. Pressure cooking looks like it’s the best way to go. Anything we use I take from the back and replaces it.

    Thank you again

Your jiffy mix, dry flour, cornmeal, beans..Needs to go into the freezer for a week to kill bugs. I opened a jiffy box that wasn’t expired and had bugs in it….gross….if it gets around other foods it will infect other foods…

As we look at Pantry's what do you see besides food processing plants closed down for good or food processing plants burnt down. As today – Shanghai petrochemical burnt down at night wow another at night but what did they do, ethylene, fiber, resin, plastics, ok so how many plastic foods do you see in this pantry. If you don't have a great understand of what's going on in our world. You even cut stuff off that store's it makes you very hungry. Now our recycling plants all burnt down at night our plants are all about gone and there after our ground foods so you gave food? How about stuff to cover your window in case things go nuts. My son works Army be ready they are

It's really funny as I look threw your pantry to find you have so much from food processing plants that gave burnt down and as things go in the store it will no longer be. Oh so lucky you. I own 29 jiff why new owners going in when we found jiff went up for sale. As we found ketchup will be a slow thing again.

Tis time to use the crock pot, instant pot and roasters outside to use. So not heat up the house. I cook my beans overnight in a crockpot outside so they are done in the morning.

I sort by date. My food storage is separated by the best by dates and in different locations. The dehydrated and freeze dried cans are separate so I do not get tempted to use it. Canned meat is good until the best by dates from 2024 to 2026.

From the best by dates of 2022 and 2023, I have to use a biscuit mix packet and some fajitas and taco ingredients. From the fridge, I need to use eggs.
From the one of the many freezers, I need to use ground beef and boneless chicken. I have been using Knorr sides as I can just add canned meat and rehydrated vegetables to make a meal.

Lovely pantry! I strongly recommend storing grains, pasta, and things like muffin mix in sealed containers to extend shelf life and keep bugs out. Even a plastic tote on the shelf helps protect dry goods inside. My favorite way to store rice, pasta and oats is vacuum sealed in half-gallon Ball jars if you can get them.

Greetings from East Texas! Thank you for the wonderful tour! Your Pantry is beautiful. I love the rolling containers on the floor with the blue lids. Can you share what brand they are and where you purchased them?
Tks in advance! I feel you on the Temps! We were 97 today with a heat index of 109. And HUMID! Whew! It’s been a trial for sure

Consider making a big batch of venison jerky with your freezer stock. It's the best jerky I've ever had, and lasts a long time in vacuum seal bags. It's great lean protein for a grab-n-go lunch, or when hiking, etc.

Being gluten free helps keep things simple. I grind rice into flour and keep cornstarch on hand to tweak the texture. I use both rice and corn starch regularly. Ground grains don't last nearly as long, so storing in their whole form is the best.

I love your pantry and miss mine. Consider getting some more buckets for your rice, oatmeal, and cornbread… other dry goods. Put them in Mylar bags and toss in the bin. Store extra dry goods in an overflow closet or spare corner in a different area. Rice will just keep. So will beans, oats, sugar, grits, salt, and pasta. The smaller Mylar allows you to portion or just put wha you need visual on the shelf to use up. It will free up a lot of space.

Nice pantry. Good that you have decided to simplify your meals because it will not only give you more shelf space, but it will help to simplify your cooking. It was nice to hear that you will USE the items you're phasing out!
I make my own ketchup — I'll bet you will enjoy making your own. The commercial stuff is filled with corn syrup and terrible as a 'food'.
You'll also enjoy making salsa — it's a fun food to can. I can mine in the pressure canner, not water-bath, so I don't use vinegar and I can get thicker salsa that way.
As you phase out the pancake syrup, get some honey — it's a good food item and is great on biscuits, pancakes, and toast. I get a raw local honey (from apple tree pollen) for my allergies and it's so mild, not nearly as sweet as clover honey.
Please consider putting your bagged rice in an oxygen-free bucket (or in mylar). Storing that way will preserve your rice for decades. I store my extra white rice in mylar w/ the oxygen absorbers — packed like that will keep white rice edible for 30 years.
    Happy canning!!

My house is so hot I can barely use the stove or oven in the summer lol. Maybe at midnight. I bought an instant pot that doesn’t create putter heat so hopefully this summer will be able to have meals still instead of constant crap meals in the summer lol 😆
