Incidentally, the reason the pasta needs salt is because Olive Garden doesn't salt their pasta water. They do this so their pots will last longer.

It does work, but it hasn't been determined if its because the pots don't have salt water in them, or if it's because the pasta ends up coming out so bad, fewer people eat there.

I dunno what this guy is smoking but I've been to nearly every section of Italy along with family in Sicily and yes, Spaghetti exists everywhere…this dude sounds like a fraud from his "knowledge" to his mispronunciation of "ricotta"

This sandwich didn't feel all that epic. A "tour of Italy" sandwich would have really been a home run, instead he opted for the safe option any of us could do. First time I've disliked a babish vid

Someone please remind Andrew why he has 10mil + subscribers and tell him he needs to do that again 😓 clearly it’s not working. Only saying something because I miss the funny, whisky drinking Frasier watching Andrew 😢

The most impressive thing Olive Garden has ever done is to convince people that they should come in and sit down and wait to eat overpriced fast food.

Spaghetti and meatballs IS something you find in Italy, but only in some very specific areas in the south…which is where a LOT of the immigrants came from (because the south of Italy has always been poorer and more vulnerable to bad harvests than the north).

Back around 2015-2017 ish Olive Garden had Bread Stick Sandwiches as a lunch menu item. Pretty sure there was a chicken parm and meatball parm version, possibly a third with alfredo. Around the same time they would have Buy One Take One for $12 – a full plate of pasta there, and a frozen one to go. My family would sometimes visit me while I was in college and we'd go there, and I would take all the leftovers and have dinner for a week straight. Gained a lot of weight.

Okay, okay, okay… First off… Telling ANY Italian person what is "traditional" in lasagna will automatically get you cancelled by someone. There is no such thing as traditional lasagna. I have been roasted to the coals by putting bechamel in lasagna by Italians. I have also been roasted to the coals for putting ricotta in it. If anyone says that THEIR way of making lasagne is THE way to do it… they're wrong. There is no correct way to do it. Have fun and do it however you like.
