I cut back on water as it makes the rice way to gummy.

4c Rice (wash rice until clear with warm water. drain off water)
3c water (3/4 cup water to 1 cup rice over 3 cups)

    1) – PRESSURE COOK BUTTON.
    2) – TEMP – HI
    3) – 3 mins (wait 10 mins. open blow off to full)
    4) – Take top off and mix rice all the way to the bottom and fold it. I let my rice sit with the lid open for 5 mins. This drys the rice more..

I have made 6 cups of rice and the time of 3 mins is good with 3/4 water to 1 cup rice.
NOTE: Water must always cover the rice. If you cut back to much water the rice will get hard.

For the normal 1-1/4c water to 1c rice works best in a 6.5 qt Ninja Foodi.

Why would you pressure cook the rice rather than just cook it normally? if it takes 18 minutes from start to finish to cook the rice under pressure it would be quicker just to cook it without pressure. whats the advantage of doing it this way?

Now I can make 3 cups in my rice cooker in 20 mins???

not really sold on this… Can I make 5 cups in 10 minute?

I can buy a rice cooker that will make 5 cups of rice in 20 mins?? again foodi is only doing 1 cup in 10 mins…

I have the 8 qt op401.. just trying to see how it will work with all the options..

I've watched so many Foodi videos over the last week (my Ninja arrives today) and this one is the best because it's perfectly concise. Thank you for that. I guess most everyone else is trying to be a personality while they demonstrate and I just want the information. You're going to be my go-to.

Very good video. No silly music or senseless babbling, just straight to the demonstration and this is exactly what I needed to watch for my upcoming sweedish meatballs. Thank you!

Would I use the same amount of time pressure cooking my rice mixed with boneless cooked chicken to make a spanish rice and chicken dish? If possible, do you have a method of cooking arroz con pollo?

As always, a really GREAT video presentation, and I hope you are around for many moons to come.

Wow, this thing is EXPENSIVE! It cost anywhere from a low of ABOUT $170 up to a HUMONGOUS HIGH of around $400. I have two really nice devices, one for air-fry, the other for pressure, costing less than $130 total. Do a global search for <Ninja Foodi> and you SHOULD find it for less than $200.

Multi-function devices are nice, as long as one of the features does not go POOF on ya. This can render ALL of the devices features nil. I will always prefer a dedicated device for a dedicated use… well, as long as I have the space – lol!
