I cook garbanzo beans weekly. Boiling also removes the lectins, just needs to pre soak boil. I use to use pressure cookers, in PC their skin tends to come off more than when boiled on stove. Which is ok for hummus.

Bobby, Ive loved your channel since i found it a few yrs ago! Thank you for this beautiful recipe!! Im definitely going to make my own hummus now. But can you recommend a Bobby approved store bought hummus for lazy days!🌞🤷🏽‍♂️ And Bobby, by now you've learned to ignore the ludicrous comments. Keep doing you. You and your family are appreciated! 💙🙏🏼

Aren’t the lectins now in the water that you just cooked the chickpeas in? The lectins had to go somewhere so not sure that I would use the cooking liquid. To further remove lectins, I might also rinse the chickpeas with water after cooking

Bobby, that means Costco's humus is not good because it has canola and sunflower oil. You made it with extra virgin olive oil. Very healthy. Making it home is home is a lot of work. I will cut down Costco's humus until I find a way to make the healthy one.

It’s been quite a while since I have watched, I think little Rosie was only about two years old then. She has continued to grow into a beautiful child, with a healthy appetite and a great curiosity around food, fresh ingredients and cooking. Keep cooking together. 🎉

I am from the Middle East nut sorry to say your hommos recipe is s bit wrong.First you put raw garlic about 2 gloves then you add your tehini (for a pound of chick peas ) you add 1 and 1 cup of lemon juice and a half cup of water.Salt to taste. You dont pit olive oil in the blender,Once you plate your hommos then you make a round groove all arround and then you pit your olive oil in that groove.Serve on a side plate radishes, spring onions and Mediterranean olives.

I always use some cumin and a hot pepper. Love homemade too. If you only have stove top, if you boil beans for 10 minutes then turn the heat down to cook, it will get rid of the lectins as well.

My fave hummus recipie is BEET HUMMUS – pureed beets, white vinegar, lemon zest, lemon juice, tahini and chickpeas – puree it all together to get it smooth. Utterly scrumptious! Beets are super nutrient dense and act as a vasodialator – they open up the blood vessels, veins and arteries to make blood move and circulate.
