When I say eastern asia, I meant Korea / Japan / China which are influences that I grew up with! Just so that people don't take it the wrong way…💙💙What other dishes should I try making?
Im filipino and thats how i do mine, a lot of garlic and yours looks just like how i cook mine!! So good. And every filipino have their own version of how to cook their adobo!! Yum!!!
Chef Ramsey shows people how to make dishes from around the world all the time. He's white. If he can do you can to. I really don't get why people are like this. I don't have this very specific heritage so I have no right to cook it and show others how to do so. That's just BS in my opinion.
😂😂😂 'misrepresentation' 🤣🤣🤣 I'm not Mexican, but I make Mexican food that kicks ass with no apology or explanation. I also make Italian food, Irish food, and Chinese food. And I'll tell you how to make something from your own culture any time of day. No apologies.
I don't understand why "it's not authentic" is a problem. If it's tasty, that's what matters. It's a celebration of a different culture, not a theft of it.
If i would post a video of a food dish that ive customized to the point of where i think its the best for me, id just call it "my favorite way to cook "food dish"" though it may poke some people the wrong way
You can hear the hesitancy and the active self-depreciation in this because we’re all predisposed to be afraid to participate in others cultures because of the new age political leftism in the US.
Well to be honest if a white person was better than you a making kimchi than I don't see the problem with them telling you how to make the best kimchi (Also I'm not implying she's bad at making kimchi )
Just curious, adobo looks very similar to Chinese red braised pork belly. Does it taste similar? I can see that the spices are different, but the final appearance looks so alike that without the audio I nearly mistook it for the Chinese dish😅

Pinoys are cool laid back people.. We are not that "keen" on the misrepresentation issue thingy.. We love people acknowledging our thing/food. Thanks!
Daaaang you can get a lot of pork in your mouth
She got it down right to the T
Is it not entitled to say you would be upset if someone who hadn’t spent time or been in a Korean kitchen claimed they could make “the best kimchi”
As a Filipino, you cooked it perfectly. To be honest Filipino Adobo differs from family to family so yeah.
I’m Filipino but your adobo looks BOMB! Yuuuum

Marry me.
The dish I mean
3/4 of the video is virtue signaling and justifying your food. Ffs just cook what you like

It looks delicious
If white people can do it, you can do it too
What asian are you
Looks good! I would recommend pounding the garlic in mortar and pestle before you sautee them. Releases more flavor. Otherwise, this dish looks good!
Can I take you out on a date ? Any place any time.
There's no correct way of cooking adobo. You don't follow cookbook when cooking adobo, you follow your heart
